Yeah you are right, Hands up.
I am a single bloke living in a bedsit, ugly as a pug and weighs in at 20 stone plus.
I dont own any BTL's or anything else.
There you go the truth is out.
You can get Jetski to confirm this as the truth.

Is this really true pickles? I thought you were a hard-core BTL person? Nowt wrong with being a fat-boy though! That's what management does to one!

  • I don't think it's right to have any more posts about pickles110564 tonight as he's probably tucked up in bed waiting for Santa clause to come and cant defend himself.

Thanx Generali, I have learnt alot from you over the last few months.
Why do you think Aus will suffer?
I hope our top managers are right in their estimation that by middle 2009 everyone should start pulling out of this horrible time.
But by reading your postings I think it is going to take a damn sight longer.
Englands loss is Aussy's gain, good luck for the future and Happy Christmas to you and your family.

You need to look at how the world economy has been working for the last 10 years.

Basically the Asians are buying lumps of metal, coal etc that the Aussies dig out of the ground. They then turn them into various things and sell them to the British and Americans on credit.

The British and Americans have run out of credit. As a result, Asian people will make less. As a result, the Aussies will dig less stuff out of the ground.

Now as Aussies and Asians pretty much have the stuff they need (although not necessarily the stuff they want) they should be able to ride out the storm. The exceptions being that the Aussies don't produce many consumer goods and the Asians don't produce enough food. That's a problem simply solved, by barter if it comes down to it. It would mean a reduced standard of living for Australians but not so hugely.

The British and Americans have been living way beyond their means and asking the Asians to pay for it. You can't live beyond your means forever although as a country you can put off the day of reckoning for a long time. My real fear for the world economy is that the Americans aren't going to be extended more credit. If they're not (which is a real possibility) then the current economic system breaks down entirely. Britain's position is very precarious if that happens.

And I found these from you too Pickles me old mate:

"We have no unsecured debt, just our main residence mortgage and our BTL mortgages, we have loads of equity in the properties but this does not matter because we have no intention of selling. When the crash occurs and the time is right we will keep adding to our BTL,s"

"Everyone has a choice, 13 years ago we started with one grand buying properties no one else wanted. We have just exchanged today on a house that we will turn in six months into a 600 hundred grand property to go with our 4 rentals Get off your @rse , stop blaming every one else and turn your life around"

"Never had negative equity, when I bought 1st property had large saved deposit, otherwise building society would not have contemplated giving mortgage"
