We tend to just call it the docks (we being the general public of Felixstowe), which encompasses all of the different companies which can be found there and not just the main port owners.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Is PORT an acronym for something?

This is a strange thread indeed? Vinegartits to Pickles seems to be what Kryptonite was to Superman? Has pickles met his Nemesis? And is there cheap properties to be had on Hamilton Road?

No cheap properties down that road I am afraid...it's mainly shops with flats above!

Simply I realise some of my characteristics in real life border on autism, like many many other people I believe. So absolutely no offence intended to anyone who suffers, or is blessed by this attribute.
Now I know why I like you. I'm one too :)

I was enjoying the door colour thing .... I was sat here guessing and dying to drive down there right now to check... even though I'm close to Lands End right now. That's the speshul madness at work :)

So what do you people think about Britain's largest container port to be built here on the north bank of the Thames estuary on the former Shell refinery site ?

Will Dubai Ports follow through and get it built or will the "recession" mean nothing more will happen?

Yes, it's funny, why did it suddenly seem quite important? Good that Sue is our agent in Felixstowe. We now know about numbers 23 and 58 which is good. I hope that some of those flats above shops have their own front doors, little doors next to the main shop entrance. And with the number of a red door and a green door I think I could be quite happy. If those numbers had any relationship at all to 23 and / or 58 I would be ecstatic.

If you take the numbers 23 and 58, and put them like this 2358, then the middle numbers 35 are the difference between the original numbers - 58 - 23 = 35. I like that sort of thing. But only at a simple level, I can't focus so well on more complicated stuff.

My carefully cultivated persona of dashing young man about town has now vanished, to be replaced by geeky mumbling strange person, who's main love is for the numbers between 1 and 100. MSEers are reasonably kind and understanding about it, but vow never to let Mewbie have any personal details.

Fifth edit: I've just thought. What if those flat entrances don't have numbers at all, but are just flat 1, flat 2, etc? What if they are 23A, 58B, etc.? Not sure if I like that. Bit worried now. That B looks like an 8. I don't like that either much.

Sixth edit: I'm going shopping now. The numbers will just have to be put to one side. Oh, and er, sorry to anyone who has had to suffer reading this!

    .
For several months past, I have been buying in (for my new recession store cupboard) extra quantities of basics like rice, dried milk, condensed milk, tinned meat, and intend to hold at least a year's worth of coffee beans because whereas tea I can live without I would so miss my two bowls of coffee at breakfast. I have seen the prices of some imported food go up by 30 per cent overnight, and when that happens the proverbial writing is on the wall. I have bought extra, hand-operated or battery-operated gadgets to help with running the household when we start having extended power cuts.

Well, I didn't come down to earth yesterday but I am not as paranoid as you are.

    Yeah it really shines through.

DP World are in the position that they can switch on or off their development when they so choose.
My gut feeling is that they will build stage 1 and when that is complete they will decide on the further stages.
They have already put a hold on building all the wharehousing and some other infrustructure.
  • Can't believe I missed all the fun, my old mate Pickles getting hammered from all directions. Bummer.
    Where have you been?
At least you look beyond your nose and realise that it is important that the truth is told and not all Mr Tits fiction.
