Cheque arrived 7/2 for my FTB which matured on 23/1 - I consider a 2 week delay not too bad given the degree of chaos I had expected."Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm" (Sir Winston Churchill)0

It appears that they are not working through them in any kind of maturity date priority but its random Perhaps as you say there is a big pile and they are working through the ones at the top of the pile .0

Trouble is, the pile gets added to every day so those who responded promptly will end up waiting the longest."How could I have been so mistaken as to trust the experts" - John F Kennedy 19620 -
my dh is waiting and it is 13 weeks now since maturity0

i've just thought of another possibility. Perhaps they are on some kind of monthly budget restriction. ie they pay out the small amounts to clear the largest number. When i enquired on the phone the day before last she asked me how much it was for which i didn,t think was significant at the time, but maybe thats the reason and the 'not registered yet' is just flim flam,.0

A large FSCS envelope arrived today addressed to my wife (she's out) It matches the one my Fixed rate cheque came in. Nothing too surprising till I explain that she only posted her claim form last Wednesday! ( don't ask why, she's had it since 20 dec)
My new theory is that FSCS have a big pile of mail that is added to daily, and they simply deal with the ones on top first.
It was her cheque £7.5k It's in a proper bank now. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0 -

this is exactly what will have happened. I was concerned about the same thing happening to me.
First in the bag, means bottom of the bag.
Not very scientific is it?0 -
I spoke to a lovely and patient lady at the fscs. I think their hands are tied re speed of process, they are aiming for 6 weeks from maturity after they received the form. Well our forms never arrived until mid jan. My dh has a bond now matured for 13 weeks and another matured 2 days ago. I was told to expect cheques early march

I make that at least 16 weeks if that is the case
Oh well at least we can live as I received 2 of my cheques0 -
Tulip's was 28th Jan to 5 Feb.. ! Maturity date to cheque receipt.
BTW They told me on Thursday they haven't started normal course January maturities yet, expect to start mid Feb.
Jan19th maturity - Feb 11 cheque. - pleasant surprise as FSCS said mid to end Feb. So that's 4 weeks including cheque clearance.
I remember how I felt when the news broke on Sat/Sun c 6th Oct and against that background I'm very satisfied with the result .:T0 -
Received and returned my paper application for FRB on 22 December. Today I got a letter dated 30 January from FSCS thanking me for returning the application form and saying they are processing forms that have been returned and they are working hard to assess my application as soon as possible.
Good to know they have got it and are now working on it. My FRB matures on 12 Feb 09 so hope a cheque will arrive soon afterwards, fingers crossed.
Just to update I got my cheque today 14 February :T :T :T .
This will not be any consolation to those who have been waiting weeks / months after maturity  but to those whoes bonds mature in the future and the FSCS have got your claim there will be some comfort to know that they are processing some on time and sending cheques as soon as the bond matures. Happy daysand good luck to all those who are still waiting.
Regards
