Thanks Jinky, I guess that is a benefit to waiting till they're a bit older, they understand language more? At 14 months he still doesn't say any words.

He understands 'bath time' - it is sooo cute he just gets up from whatever he is doing and runs for the stairs :D - and 'bed time' 'night night' etc but not much else I don't think. He knows 'cat' and 'look' and 'spinning!' :D A lot can change in a few short months I suppose.

I would say if you feel the time has come then just go for it;)

    think yourself lucky then:D

My 2 could understand everything more or less, and started talking really early:eek:      ,from about 11 months.
It has been hellish since then:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
    why? no.......etc

And you would be suprised what he understands:p

Mine too! he started talking early and has never stopped since - exhausting he is but very sweet. Had to explain the ad where the man was having a baby though the other day...that was fun...

I think his efforts have been more focused on getting mobile, not sure if that's preferable though, keeps me active I guess!

Yes he probably does understand more of what we say, but you can be stood there shouting ELLIOT! ELLIOT LOOK AT MUMMY and does he? HA HA. It is like he is stone deaf sometimes.

I'll see if I can get OH to get his room done this week so we have some time in the house to do it - the aim being that DS feels more secure with not going to nursery for a while...

It's a useful tool with a toddler though, especially when we all had D&V and as Bun says, the teething days. Not easy this parenting lark, is it...

    Anyway thank you :kisses3:

now I am going for a long bubble bath with Russell Brand

All day with Stewart all we heard was "why?"
    "why did this happen?"
    "why did that man?"
"why is the sky blue?".....age 2
""why do cars need petrol?" also age 2

    Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh:grin:

He used to get up v.early.....6am......and go downstairs and turn on the tv and watch the Open University on BBC2.

He once totally flummoxed my cousins hubby by asking him about cloud formations when he was 3:rotfl:

Yep, sounds frighteningly familiar Jinky. He watches the strangest stuff - he was talking about some politician that he'd seen on the Andrew Marr show... I was a little confused about his choice of viewing but turns out it comes on after MOTD and he couldn't find the remote!
He didn't walk properly till he was about 15 months DD so it seems they all concentrate on different stuff.

DS walked and talked early 11 months in both cases.....both perfect from the start

DD started talking at 11 months as well but not so well.....and she just wasnt interested in walking at all. She was 15 months before she bothered with that:grin:

But they are all different and they all get there in the end

  • I'm in the west of scotland schoolmum, it's always windy here on the coast but really bad today.

I was there too yesterday - my arms are aching after holding the sterring wheel tight all the way along the M8 trying not to be blown off the road!

Thankfully all the Xmas shopping now done - dropped off pressies at my Godson's yesterday. They've got loads of little things each. They each got a t-shirt from Primark (costing me a pound :D 1 having a football thingy on the front and the other appropriately saying, "Always the centre of attention" for the wee one) a sweet selection box each from Ikea which were 2 for a fiver, and the older boy got a boot bag for his football boots, while the wee one got a set of Batman stickers). I've spent about a tenner in total on them - should have bought them a book about the credit crunch to help them understand it all!

Anyhoo, all the shopping is done and it's just a case of sitting at my desk at work and counting down the days!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
  • back from the park - got up very close and personal with a carrot munching reindeer which was cool!

I noticed the tomato hike yesterday when I started doing my end of month shop - Smartprice chopped tomatoes are 33p!!!

    ey up all :)

that's it, housework done, all 3 floors top to bottom, beds all changed, feet up time :D

we in the G-J household have also noticed all the price hikes at t'supermarket, pasta has doubled, bread's sky-high again, milk about 60% up ...yet alcohol seems to get cheaper every day  bad news when you don't drink :(

Think they want everyone to get very p*ssed so you don't notice how much it's costing you to eat
