Well I was getting to the point where I thought I wasn't going to get anything done! Started bounty balls, had to collect ds from his dancing engagement (LOL) dh's mate arrived bearing birthday gift for me for tomorrow, so would have been churlish not to sit with them and have a cuppa. DS wanted a lift to his charity shop session as he was late because of the dancing. Felt as if was getting nowhere, needed to achieve, so have made the Nutella cake from the domestic goddess book, not as extravagant as it sounds, eggs to use up before Christmas, nutella (750g for £1.50) and chocolate (galaxy dark 40p) at bargain prices and hazelnuts lurking and well out of date. Will either freeze resulting cake for New year's eve or take to mum's for Xmas eve tea. It smellls absolutely gorgeous.
Trying to base all my baking on what is in the baking drawer at present (well, that gives me plenty of choice. Would I be too embarrassed to post a picture? I think I need an inventory, then you can give me your best ideas. Perhaps that would be in another thread!
i haven't posted on the Daily for aaages but I really want to know what the Mondamin stuff is! I thought I was the only person to have that much baking stuff (mostly sitting in the cupboard waiting to have something done with it!!!!). I think I'm famous for buying 'stuff' when I read a recipe . . . and then forgetting which recipe to use it for.0 -
Did two loads of washing that only part dried outside so is on radiators now.
Spent hours clearing another food cupboard , cleaning it and sorting out what was there. Cupboard is still full to the brim but looks a lot tidier and I can find things better.
Picked up DD from work and did a quick shop for veg etc for tomorrow. Managed to stock up on some dried peas and have some soaking to have tomorrow.
Huge lasagne is about to come out of the oven and DDs complaining they are starving.
Hello to Half Pint and good luck to halight with a new job.
Hope DD might come home tomorrow for a few days so fingers crossed.

Pooky Would you mind posting the no yeast pizza dough recipe or share a link? Yeast and I do not get along for some reason either and I love HM pizza. Thanks

Sure...
2 cups of flour *doesn't seem to matter which*
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
1/4 cup of oil
2/3 cup of water
Bung it all in a bowl and mix (I use the dough hooks on my handheld mixer) - makes a lovely elastic dough that rolls out well to make 2, 12inch pizzas.
I cook the bases for about 5 mins, flip them and then put the toppings on.

Evening all,
just done a skim through, can't remember anything specific really but (((((((huge hugs)))))))))) to all those feeling poorly, with sick relatives, and/or going through tough times for whatever reason. To those facing job losses, sending positive thoughts your way.
Still suffering from the flu although it's finally on the turn I think (but only since about 5pm). So still nothing much OS going on here.... Just coming in to say hello to my OS friends & welcome to all the newbies
