Morning all!
Long time no speak.
Hope you are all well - I think Taplady needs (((hugs)))
I am seriously behind with Xmas - only got one present absolutely finished (Gran's). My brothers and my cousins both involve alcohol, which, seeing as my driving licence has been nicked, I can't buy without someone in tow.
Managed to get my Xmas holiday off :j:, so I am off from Wednesday through to Sunday - going up to my parents to spend Christmas there. Think she will have to buy above booze for me - sure she will love that on Xmas Eve! Having all that time off will give me chance to get to grips with my 4k challenge.
Anyway, plans for today are to nip into Tavy in a minute and run some errands, then make loads of chutney which I should have done ages ago for my Aunt's present . This happens every year.
Hope you all have a good day :beer:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Morning everyone
I finally have my internet access sorted from when I moved at the end of November. I finally feel a bit settled here but the garage is still choc full of boxes and stuff.
I am so excited for christmas this year, both kids are at the perfect age and are so excited, they have been counting sleeps since November!!!
Have I missed anything..........?
I have a list of jobs to do today so long that i really shouldn't be on here at all.
I need to :- Put the washing on
- buy some extra presents for oh. I have got him the i pod touch as it has been reduced recently but i dont want him to only have one present to open at christmas.
- finsish wrappin the kids presents
- plan my christmas day menu
- do my weekly menu plan
- buy all the food and drink for this next week
- have fun with kids
- bake some goodies (not sure what yet)
- clean the bathrooms
- hoover all through
- sort kids bedrooms
- sort our bedroom - difficult when you dont have a wardrobe and only one set of drawers at the minute
- sort my paperwork out
I have already:
- tidied the back garden
- washed the pots (god i miss my dishwasher)
- swept the kitchen
- had a bath and bathed the kids
- watched Home Alone
- wrote a list of the contents of my cupboards
I love writing lists as they help me to focus on the job in hand. So I am going to print this out and tick them off as I go long.
Has anyone seen those Halogen Ovens on the shopping channel? My dad has just bought me one and I am not really sure what to do with it, I think I might use it once or twice and then relegate it to the cupboard.
Right Off to start my list now..........0 -
I know that sometimes due to ciscumstances it's difficult to be cheerful at xmas but I thought I'd bring my wee bit o cheer to the board (I won't subject you to my singing though
)
Welcome HalfPint. The OS part of the forum has the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. I'm new here myself and have been made to feel most welcome.
Sometimes it's difficult to be cheerful any time, yet I believe you can treat others with respect regardless. If I'm feeling exceptionally good, I just try to kill them with kindness. Leaves them with a huh? look on their face. LOL
Go ahead and sing, you never know, we might all join in. :snow_grin:xmastree::snow_grinTake the first step.

I love lists too. My only problem is that it always seems like I lose the list. :rotfl:
I love this site: http://www.rememberthemilk.com for my lists now. You can add in different "folders" and tasks to each. I've even put birthdays for friends and family in a list so it comes up a week before their bday. I need all the help I can get.Take the first step.

Quick post as need to whizz off to pick up a couple of bits from Argos and then pop to Asda to do some more stocking up on their bread flour, as it's suddently shot up in price in Mr T's, darn them!

Hi everyone, I've got so much to do today but still really suffering from sinuses so haven't motivated myself yet!
My OH is back off exercise today:j and Im cooking MS beef wellington for the first time so we shall see how that goes! He won't get back til 7pm so I've got plenty of time to dig out the kitchen and make sure everything is spotless then I'm going to welcome him home with a glass of mulled wine!
Money Saving Diva, my grandma died in October this year and her and my grandad had looked after us every weekend when my brother and I were young as my parents were renovating an old farmhouse, she used to tell me stories all about us living in a caravan and my mum & dad sleeping in the only bit of the house that had a roof and the snow being so deep we couldn't see them. I have so many wonderful memories of her and I miss her so dreadfully. I NEVER cry but just thinking of her brings tears to my eyes (like now) and I think I will always miss her, but I realise how lucky I was to have her in my life and I managed to tell her that before she passed.
Sniff *wipes nose with sleeve* suppose I'd better get in the kitchen.
Love to all.0 -
domestic goddess - your list is not boring, very useful.Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0 -
Welcome to HalfPint. It has been a stressful year for lots of people on this thread, but it is a fantastic place for support and encouragement.
Aussie and RedRuby - I've just had another look and the spiders and cats have gone!I haven't been at the sauce, honest! They really were there - a black and white cat on a lawn with a real spider:eek: (a truly horrid one), and a ginger cat in a kitchen with a plastic one (not quite so horrid)! Oh, dear - it must be old age!

Afternoon everyone. Well this maybe the last Saturday I have to work as things are getting wrapped up sooner than expected at work. It would be nice to have a full weekend off, haven't really had one since I started in this business 17 years ago. Mind you, I'd prefer to be working the five days prior to the weekend as well.
Not much in the way of OSing today, I left everybody asleep in the house this morning so I've got my birthday presents to open when I get home. The OH has hinted at making a curry from scratch, with all the bits and pieces as well, time will tell.
Have a good one everybody, whatever you are doing. My thoughts are with those that need them at this time of year.
Good luck to anybody looking for a job at the moment as well.0 -
Thank you all for your advise on my casserole. It is ready:eek: way too early but never mind....it tastes fab:T. I put it in the SC this morning on high:rolleyes: hence it being cooked already. I added a tablespoon of tikka spice mix and celery, courgette and parsley in addition to the previously listed ingredients and it really is a very yummy very cheap discovery
. I will heat it up at dinner time and serve it with rice.
