  • Just wanted to say good morning everyone.I guess we'll all be busy this weekend.Going down to Manchester to visit our daughter today.
It's very mild here, you'd think it was spring already.Yesterday I thought my roof was going to blow off it was very scary and pitch black all day,but today it's lovely so that's a bonus.I'm sat in bed watching two collared doves on the telegraph wire courting, guess they think the spring is here too after that cold spell.Blackbirds are in full voice too,so all in all very pleasant.
I'm off to get ready now as we've got a three hour drive and MrT is'nt that keen as he's the one who does the driving.
    Have a lovely weekend everyone.
    Take care xxx.

Morning all,I hope everyone is Ok-I've not posted all week and skimmed through.((((HUGS)))) to those who need one.

We went to friends for a curry last night-didnt get home till 2,so feel a little rough, DH is feeling a lot rough  but it made a nice change.I need to do a bit of fresh shopping shortly as I'm doing a buffet for 10 tomorrow, but they're not coming till 5 so I've got plenty of time.I have bought a few party type nibbles, but am making veg chilli, homemade wedges ,tuna pasta salad, tabbouleh and pizza.Mince pies Ive already done and frozen before I ate too many-still managed 3 though ;) Think I'll do choc cupcakes out of a Nigella book too
DS2 returns from his snowboarding trip this afternoon,DH spoke to him earlier, and he doesn't want to come back -he's enjoyed it so much,he said it was snowing then and it looked lovely-its drizzling with rain here
Right, better get cracking,we're going to the match this aft,so not a lot of time.Have a good weekend. x

  • Morning Chums, well it looks quite mild outside ,although I haven't stuck my beak out yet. I had envisiged having a restful day with my feet up ,a little light knitting and just watching t.v.,but you know whats said about the best-laid plans of mice and JackieO's.All gone up the wall.!!
9.00.a.m. this morning first phone call
DGS 'Granny, Mum has to go into work today can you pick me up and my girlfriend at 12.00.and drop us off at the cinema? ' If Dad does it the others will only take the mickey about me and her .Ben is the sensitive type, and it is his first young lady so I said o.k.
the addendum was that could he text me when they come out around 3.00.p.m. and could I run them home again, dropping off said young lady at her house .Again I said o.k. Then son-in-law came on the phone 'Can you pick a parcel up from the sorting office for me? on the way back from dropping them off at the cinema, again I agreed.

10.00.a.m. Phone call again this time eldest DD 'Hi Mum alright if I drop down this afternoon for coffee and a chat,in fact around tea time would be nice ...and what have you organised for your dinner tonight and if its good ,can I come ? as OH is going off to watch West Ham and I'm at a loose end' me yes of course you can I rustle something up for you.
DD: 'Can DD and boyfriend come as well ?'
me ,yes ,o.k. bring them as well.So looks like my quiet restfull day will now be running folk to the cinema and back and then cooking dinner for three extra.Oh well I'm just a gal who can't say no.
I don't really mind I suppose, I may try out my new Remoska I think I have some cubed beef in the freezer so that, plus veggies I can bung in this afternoon.One-pot cooking I like that idea.Apart from that I will have a normal Saturday with the wireless on whist I'm sorting out dinner tonight.may make some 'twinks' cookies as DGD's boyfriend has hollow legs.No peace for the wicked .
<<hugs to those feeling down or poorly, and to the rest of you try not to stress too much, Christmas will come again next year, and the year after...
    Cheers JackieO xx
  • Mornin all!

I've been a lurker on mse for a wee while but wanted to come say hi to you all on the OS board and wish you all a Merry Christmas....There seems to be a lot of stressed people around and not much xmas cheer. I was officially told off yesterday like a 5 year old for being 5 minutes late picking up my DS from nursery  . My DH was told off for "knocking on a customers door" to give him a special delivery (he's a postie).

I know that sometimes due to ciscumstances it's difficult to be cheerful at xmas but I thought I'd bring my wee bit o cheer to the board (I won't subject you to my singing though :o )

    So...here's a huge MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! :j :xmassign:
to you all and I look forward to getting to know you.

My day is going to consist of housework and getting ready for my parents arriving to stay on Monday...I;ve already been out and sorted out the horses. Later gtg shopping and see how much money I can save by getting value spagetti for our spag bol for tea. xxxxx

Aussie - there were videos of cats playing with spiders alongside your photos of DGS! Perhaps I'm going mad! I wonder if anyone else has seen them?
