Well done for making the phone call to help stop the DD bouncing, it's these little bits which can add up to a significant difference isn't it

    Pay day payments all gone,

    Next £896
    Very £1100
    Santander £677
    Tesco £1790
    Fluid £470

    Total £4933
I don't think the Tesco one is accurate though so I'm a bit cautious until the next statement comes. I really, really, really need to try and get my online banking for working for them again.

I've never managed to ever completely clear mine LT, so at least 10 years! Imagine the interest I've paid on it  I've had to ut a couple of presents on the CC and I feel literally sick everytime I have, I'm not even talking expensive elaborate presents I'm talking very modest gifts.

Just to kick me even more Mr Pps just received a fine of £400 thats due on the 18th December so unless he can get them to accept a payment plan thats going to have to go on CC too.

Having a very down day moneywise today so hope you are all having better x x

    Hi!

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas?

Ours was ok, the hamper from church had a beef joint, crackers, potatoes, carrots, sprouts, mince pies, choccy biscuits, no alchohol wine, a present for both small people and a hat and travel mug each for me me and Mr pips. It also had toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, washing up liquid and a big bag of crisps so we are set for a while and for that all I am VERY greatful :T Christmas day was just us for and Boxing day we went to relatives. We had set a £10 per couple limit which was stuck to by all of the younger members of family but not at al by the older. They were very unimpressed with the suggestion of a limit but I guess they are in a position not to worry. Of course though it made me feel a bit carpy when they gave us gifts of easily £50 value :(.

I've just roughly calculated my next months totals in anticipation and with the unavoidable things I had to put on the CC I think my total will be up to £5630, shouldn't be more and hopefuly will be less. I've just seen on here to think of it in 1% blocks so I think I'm going to try and do that.

We went yesterday to a large shopping centre nearby to se the Christmas decoratins display they put on, kids also had some christmas money too, I'm pleased to say we walked away with next to nothing. I had a few things in my hand in Boots and I stopped and thought "why am I buying this?" and the only answer I could give myself was because it's half price, so I put it all back! I did go in the card shop and get next years "named" cards, Auntie, Mum etc.

Tea today was home made sausge roll using left over sausage meat and Bubble and squeak patties using up some sprouts! I also made Jack Monroes carrot cake rice pudding, although I cheated considerably by using a cheapy, cheap tin of rice pudding and added the other ingredients. It was yum and wll have been dead cheap to make, definitely will do it again.

Belated new year wishes to you all, I have not been online as I have been enjoying being off work for Christmas, for the last many years I have worked in retail so have only had 1 day off for Christmas, ill health and a subsequent job change has meant a wonderful 12 days off this year with my Family.
So far I've had 4/5 NSDs!I have twice had Sale items in my grubby mitts that I "thought I needed" but after a quick little question I've put them back as I really had no need for them and was buying them for the sake of it.

Did have a spendy day yesterday, a tiny food shop as don't really need much as cupboards still well stocked, a few items from the pay as you feel "real junk food project" shp and a new photo scrapbook for the family for the year and acouple of spakley embellishments for in it from the hobbycraft sale although I'm not counting that as a spend as I used my Christmas money for it. I also bough 5 world beers online for my Uncles Birthday, I wouldn't usualy spend what I did but he is 60 and they were special beers that he has listed on a scratch off poster of best beers so I thought it would be an unusual and enjoyable gift for him.

I have dug out my needle and thread and fixed a pair of pyjamas thats elastic had gone, a jumper with a whole in, a pillow of Pips that was leaking little bits all over the room and whilst on a rol Pip presented me with his favourite stuffy who had a small hole in. I have sat looking at these items for months but not had the motivation to do anything about them until this week. Now all fully functional again and being used and enjoyed again.
I have read 3 frugal books this week (for free on Amazon!) some better than others but all reinforce my back to MSE mindset.

Today I am using ingredients from our local "real junk food project" all items that were classed as bin worthy for being "out of date". We have had croissants, pain aux raisin and even coffee for breakfast, homemade vegetable soup and bread for lunch and for tea will be homemade pasties and veggies. ALL previously destined for the bin
We are taking down the tree today so it will look a bit bare but in someways I quite like it, will miss the tree lights though.

Hope you are all having a good week and wish you well for the one ahead.

Hello, I did wo der what your real junk food project was about.

I've also been mending, stitched the seam on DS's Christmas pj's and two pairs of OH's trousers that have needed doing for months. I also stitched DD's first rainbows badge on her t-shirt ready for her going back

Hi LT! Take a look if you have a real junk food project near you, they are brill! Most are pay as you feel. Yesterday I got 2 innocent juices (bright blue, looked vile but tasted yum!) 2 bunches (?) of broccoli and a bunch of bananas for £2.50!
Well done on your sewing, Pea just moved up from Rainbows so I cheated and didn't sew her last lot of badges on! Actually you just reminded me I need to e*ay her trousers and hoodie! :D

Hampsterpoo if you are reading, today is Pips ELEVENTH Birthday!!

This is bitter sweet to me as obviously he is my boy and I love him but also remins me that I was pregnant with him when I first discovered MSE :money:and started this diary. It also demonstrates that I have had some of this debt, I'm looking at you particularly Tosco CC, for 11 years! :( How much interest have I paid on that! :(How much stress has been caused by it!:(

Let not linger on that bombshell any longer shall we, positives are that I printed Pip a Hogwarts letter for free (It' not every day your young man turns 11! ;)) It made him laugh. His presents from us were pretty modest, being so close to Christmas, but he was pleased. Lots from the sales! We were going to go out for a meal, (Hungry Horse have feed a family of 4 for £16) but Pea has decided today was a great day to throw up so we will have to have a Dominos instead and on Sunday we are using a 50% off voucher a friend had to take him and some friends trampolining.

As Pea is sick I've had to have the day off work so I won't get paid :( but I've taken the time to do some surveys etc so not a 100% write off.

Dropped Pip at Scouts the other night, a little voice in my head told me to go and have a look in Mozzas so I did. Loads and loads of reductions so I got £35 worth for £4!!! There was easily enough food for meals for most of next week. Sausage rolls, a quiche, 2 packs of bacon, 2 packs of burgers, a spanish chicken family meal, bread rolls, mushrooms, sheese and onion pastys and doughnuts! Might make it a weekly trip as I'm driving past anyway so not a special journey

Nothing else to report so off for a browse around the challenges on here.
