Wishing Mum2one, Lavinia and a lurking Hampsterpoo a fantastic 2015
I feel I have had yet another LBM, well not so much a LBM as that happened a while ago but maybe more of a refocussing LBM!
I CAN NOT carry on living like we are, its just to darn stressfulWe worry about money from the minute we get paid, our Month is " is it going to stretch? Oh no it isn't! Oh phew we got some tax credits in again! Oh no they've gone too now, oh wait its my pay day tomorrow phew again, wait that's gone too" I just can't carry on like it
SO I hereby pledge to return to MSE ways, clearing as much debt as possible in 2015 (yeah heard that one before I hear you all cry!!) and save a little bit to prevent next Christmas being as brown trousery as last was! :rotfl: Will update all my Debt totals just as soon as I can manage to log onto Tosco's to get my balance with them as I've managed to lock myself out some how. Totals will definately have gone up but still have to remind myself that they are not at £17,000 level like at my original LBM.

Twice in a week, on a roll!
Spent £300 today, none of it mine!
As regulars will know our house is far too dinky for us and the children share a bedroom. We tried moving but couldn't get a mortgage so are stuck put for at least about 5 years. Anyhoo, we decided to be a bit cheeky this year and ask friends and relatives to give the children money rather than toys for Christmas. We want to swap over bedrooms (we are currently in the slightly larger) so need some paint, curtains and a large dividing storage unit. We also felt it better if the children had days out/memories rather than stuff so wanted to buy 3 Merlin passes. Well luckily most embraced this as they know we really can't fit anymore stuff in so today I got our Merlin passes :T Didn't get Pea one as she will be free in most places still anyway. Went through Sealife on Quidco and got £29 cashback (see my plan for cashback in a mo). Mr Pip Weasley travels a LOT with work and travels the country so we will be able to hitch a ride to places on his way to the various sites so no petrol either whoop whoop!
Cashback - I am going to "try" and not withdraw any of it until November so I can use it for some Christmas shopping, I also have set up a Direct debt for £20 to a savings account that to be honest I often forget about! And finally I have started to buy Mr Ms savers stamps again, I started last year but stopped shopping weekly there so stopped buying stamps. I really want to be in a much better place for Christmas 2015 than I was 2014, I panicked big time and whacked way too much on a catalogue but at least it was 0% until Dec 2015 but I MUST make sure I pay it off.
Popped to Town today and got a couple of bits in the sales that can be used as Birthday pressies later in the year, also got 8 rolls of 20p wrapping paper
I am waiting on a statement from IDEM so that debt needs to be made accurate but I will put the last known total before I put my head in the sand again. added on but the ones I know of are as follows:Tesco £2,365
Isme £435
Next £210
IDEM £600?????
Santander £640
Total = £4250:(
BUT once again I need to remember that at my actual LBM 6 years ago I owed over £17,000 so I have still done well.
Pips Birthday on Friday, 6!!! Having a party at Wacky Warehouse again, feel a bit guilty as he goes to school in a well off village so most of his friends have parties and the all singing all dancing play place that's twice the price but hey ho, one day maybe!

There are 2 PT vacancies at Pip's school, one as an administrator 15hrs and the other as a Teaching Assistant 20hrs, not sure if I should apply? Mr Pip-Weasley thinks Pips would get picked on because his Mum works there? I HATE working until the wee small hours, it makes me so, so tired. My job is rubbish and it would be impssible for them to appreciate me less even if they actually set out to! But I am a bit scared about applying for these others.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Hi Pips Mum
I've just found your diary - I read the first few pages....back in 2008 and then jumped ahead to 2015. When I have time I will browse through the last 6 years of your life :rotfl:
Anyway - I just wanted to say "go for it" and apply for the school job/s. I would guess they are term time only jobs (usually are in schools for those sort of posts). That's great as you get the school holidays off to be with the children but the salary is spread across 12 months. I worked in schools when my children were growing up (all grown now) and they were the best jobs because they fit so nicely around my family/home life.
I've subscribed to your diary and look forward to keeping up with your deft free journey - well done on the huge reduction you have already madeDFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -

Hi January! Welcome to my ramblings, can't imagine why you didn't want to read back n my last few years of life :rotfl: Thanks for your thoughts lovely ladies Lucielle and Mum2one
I got a few more details when I picked Pip up and whilst I think I would really enjoy the Teaching Assistant role it will cause quite a few Childcare issues for me with Pea, she would have to go to Nursery and I would then only be earning about £1.50 an hour!!!:eek::eek: Interesting to know that the spread the salary over the 12 months JANUARY as we did wonder!!
The Admin assistant one though is Weds PM, Thursday (Mum could have her) and Friday (she goes to a childminder Fridays anyway)
Only problem is it is a fixed contract until August 31st so would need to still keep working at Waities anywayThink I am going to apply for it though and see how I got on in process and if nothing else shows I am keen for any other roles that might come up

Hi
Schools often do that - offer fixed term contracts, but often if you demonstrate you are a valuable asset to them they find ways of extending the contract or making it permanent (not always, but more often than not).
Glad to hear you are going to go for it. Fingers tightly crossed for youDFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -
Yes it seems to be the thing lots of places do now, my Waities was a temp position for about 9 months before they made it permanant. I know I could do the Admin job, and heck I'm amazing who wouldn't want to keep me on!
It is a shame about the TA job as I know I would enjoy that too but not worth working for £1.50 an hour! Maybe once she gets the 15 hours free but that's not until this time next year!
Forgot to say when I posted before that I went to the Boots 70% off sale, expected it to be a load of old toot but was pleasantly surprised and managed to get a tonne of............. wait for it ................Christmas pressies!!:xmastree: Designer perfume sets were down from £20+ to £6ish! Guess what all my extended Family and Friends are getting! :rotfl::rotfl: I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to be able to get to a point where I only had Pip, Pea and Mr Pip-Weasley to buy for come December.Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

another Boots bargain hunter here, raided my local store, there was hit and miss but did well.
I always start in sales, and the aim is to get everyones done by Sept, then concentrate on DD and parents.
