I also added a sneaky glug of Baileys  for a new year treat, it didnt taste boozy so Pip and Pea both ate it, you could taste it in there though. The bottom and edges had gone really nice and crispy so tasted super yum!Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

Hello Everyone!
Hope you are all doing well with your New Years Resolutions!
In the space of about a minute I have gone from being really down about money to be up again! I cashed some cheques last week and they were supposed to clear on Monday, my online bank shows cheques weird so I was fairly sure we were really in the do do with money for another 2 weeks. I logged on to banking and they have cleared early and show we are not into overdraft yet so YAY!!
Have been doing the food shop in Aldi for past 2 weeks and using up some stuff in the freezer and so far this year (only 2 weeks I know!!) have only spent £50, so am really pleased with that. Will probably need to go to Mr Ms this week though as I will need a Baby Milk so will be a bit more expensive.

Hi Hi!
Its really stormy here, thunder, lightning, the works! I have been really, really, really poorly all week with full blown flu. Mr Pips had to work from home to help me out with school run and stuff as 2 days I couldnt even get out of bed.
Pippi! - The thing I think I like the very best about shopping in Aldi is that I go in with a list and I do tend to only buy whats on the list not tonnes of extra bits.
I realised every week I go to the other shops I am stocking up on an offer that will save us money, it will of course but EVERY week I am buying a different offer so I never actually see the reduction in my shopping bill as there is always another bargain to stock up on, does that make sense????? I did nip into Mr Ms as they have their Pampers on a really good offer and Pea has those at night, in the day she just has Aldis.
We had Pips 5th Birthday Party on the 11th..................FIFTH!!!!:eek:Where did that go??? Anyway he had a nice time, we went to a Wacky Warehouse and he had 7 Friends play and eat for 2 hours and it cost £50 so I was quite happy with that as I had no mess, no effort and not too expensive.
Mr Pips is handing his notice in at work next week as he has a new job working with a previous ex-boss who is also Pips God Father. At first it is only a 3 month contract but he is 95% certain it will get extended indeffinately, so fingers crossed everyone please!! The money on paper is a drop of £200 a month but in reality we will be £150 better off a month as he wont be paying any petrl as its a homebased job and if he has to travel to one of the bowling sites then they give him a hire car. It will be nice to have him around at home more too.
My work is due to end on 15th Feb, they announced the other day that they were extending a few contracts for another 3 months so I have to reapply and they should let me know by the end of next week. I HATE the hours but they do fit in with the children and the extra bit of money is nice. That said they sent a letter this week saying they had overpaid all the new staff in Novemberbut they are not taking back the 1st £100
which is nice of them really.
I "found" a savings account I had lost track of, I had an ISA with EGG and they moved it to Yorkshire Building society and I never remembered getting any proper paperwork with it even though I pay £10 a month into it! I rang them and explained and they were lovely and helped me to trace it and it had over £400 in it! I had to pay the balance of £240 on our Butlins Holiday at end of Feb so I used some of the found money to pay for that. Its half board so all done and dusted now except petrol to get there and a few little spends :T

Happy weekend all x x
Interesting week in the Pip-Weasley house, when is it anything other in our flipping lives!
Mr Pips put his notice in on Monday but found some of his permissions on the IT systems had already been removed. Once he put his notice in they removed all permissions ( they often do this in IT in case you have any malicious intent) which meant he could do next to none of his work. He spoke to his boss who advised him the HR manager was driving up from Kent to talk to him. Weird but hey ho. Anyway HR guy comes on Wednesday and advises him they had planned to make him redundant anyway as there was no longer a need for his role. The bug*ars were going to get rid of him but he beat them to it!! :T They have put him on Gardening Leave so he is at home with us for the next month paidand then he will start his new job on the 3 month contract. And basically even if the 3 months is not extended we are actually no worse off a situation than we would have been anyway now if you see what I mean!
Still not heard anything from my work, apparently supposed to know by today but nothing as yet. I am not very hopeful as there was 5 of us going for 3 jobs and I have had to have 2 days off sick whereas I don't think the others had any. Will keep you posted.
Nothing new to report really.
Have a great weekend all x xDebt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T
