Rags - Defo ring Sky as we really had no intention of leaving! Just needed it to be a bit lower each month, if they hadnt of budged then we would have had to drop some of the subscriptions but couldnt lose internet as thats what OH does for living so hopefully would need it again soon anyway.

Had my signing on appointment today at Jobcentre same as last time just different lady saying same thing "hard to find work when pregnant, keep trying". Asked her about joint claim and she said she didnt know! Going to do some research on here tonight and also on Direct Gov as tomorrow is his last day .

Was looking at a leaflet in there about different benefits and possibly might be able to get Council Tax paid for whilst he has no job, that would be good as thats £90 a month  and very small chance of income support again just until he gets work. Feel a bit skanky trying to get benefit money but then on other hand its there for genuine people who need it and we are genuine people who need it and have worked all our lives and contributed so guess I shouldnt feel bad.

In years to come 2so did you see the Olympic flame in 2012?" Me - "No, it was a bad recession year and I was signing on in the job centre" :p

And Ive had my 2nd NSD of the Month, aiming for 20!

Oooooooooooooooooooooh gosh is it that long Mum2one! Not done any looking at info yet so will check in a minute and yes I hope he is sorted by then!

I can actually claim Maternity allowance from my 26th week pregnant so beginning of next week, will fill forms in this week ready to post next. Going to play about with the benefits checker on here in a bit too.

Oh and he rang A&L and they said no to interest only mortgage and he has to ring the proper "I cant pay my mortgage" department tomorrow.

Oh flippity flip flip the benefits system is ridiculously complicated!

From what I can tell so far is that we will be on a couple claim of £111 a week until I get Maternity Allowance, then what happens your guess is as good as mine! Not sure if he will then go up to the full JSA of £71 a week? Why oh why we will only get £111 rather than £142 ( 2 x £71) do they think we eat less???

Trouble is I cant even figure out who we can actually talk to about it.

Dont feel bad about the benifits! The whole reason for them is like you said to help genuine people like you :) Hope you get it all sorted! Have your tax credits gone up aswell?? Now you wont be earning as much. Hope you get all you can and enough to keep you going till OH sorts a job.
I didnt go to see the torch today either :( the big two did with school but They had a school event first and DD3 and DS1 were crying and wanted to go home then as it was raining so we didnt face going into town :( But the big two were glad they see it with there friends :)

a joint claim, 2 people can live cheaper together than as 2 single people, they base it on 1 set of heating and bills etc.
    Its unbelievable.x
