Hi Pipsmum - sounds like you got some good bargains and wow you are organised with the wrapping- if i get motivated I may have a go lol. I popped into M&S today and got some lovely wrapping paper reduced to £1 and also some lovely bows but I hate carrying them around with me and kept catches people with them (cue a few dirty looks lol).

Finally hit the sales today and have bought all next years Christmas cards - possibly not a brilliant move as we will be moving again within the year so its all going to have to go with us. Got my crackers too. My mum thought I was barking. :) Well done on being so prepared. Hoping I can start picking up gifts for kids friends and parties - with four kids theres usually at least one party a week to buy a gift for.

Well done Kidcat - She wont think your barking when your all prepared and shes running round!:j

Pinky and spends - I just find it sooooo much easier to have them all wrapped and ready to go. Pip is a nightmare to get to sleep so tonight for example we started putting him down at 7.30 and he has JUST gone to sleep and its 22.20!! We are just going to have our tea and if I then had to wrap a present for my friends birthday tomorrow I would pass out!!:D

We went to Mr Ms tonight as I had my £25 voucher that had to be used by 31st and I wanted to get food for Pips 1st Birthday party.

I was really happy as there was LOADS of reduced stuff so I got:
4 packs of 4 mini iced doughnuts 9p each! in freezer for Pips party
3 tear and share breads 9p each! As above!
    12 crusty rolls 18p
    6 Apple doughnuts 29p
4 beef and onion pies 79p
    2 festive slices 49p
    Bag of 12 leeks £1
    Swede 29p
    Beef joint £3.89

Also got 2x 12 pack of fosters and 1 pack 12 strongbows for £18 for Pips party
and also 2 bottles of Pop for 80p. Stocked up as I figure if we dont use it at the party then it saves me buying some later on.

Its snowing here, hope it settles then OH can have the day off tomorrow.

  • Hi Pipsmum, sympathies for the late nights, been there and its horrible. My eldest never went down before midnight and was always up before 5.00am, quite surprised that I went on to have two more (who were much much better). Going to be a nightmare getting them up for school when they go back, they are getting used to their lie ins!!

Fab bargains, I never see them when I go. Do you have to go for a certain time? When is Pip one? Is he on his feet yet?

We had bad snow last night but all washed away with rain today and don't want any more!! Have a fab new year, what have you planned? x

I cant believe its New Years Eve! Where did that go?

Pinky - Pip is 1 on January 9th he was due on Christmas day but kept us waiting, Im glad he did really. As you say, moneywise, onwards and upwards! Dont be disheartened :A x x

Spends - I was just lucky that we went on a really quiet night and they had a lot to shift! Pip is very nearly walking, he can stand on his own easily but chickens out when it comes to walking! :p

Ive been having a mad cleaning session. Think I told you all last year but I am really superstitious about New Year thanks to my dad! There can be no dirty washing, no rubbish in any bins, no calendars up. Everywhere has to be spic and span. Its to bring propserity to the house and wash away any bad luck from the old year.

We are visitng 2 parties tonight, 1 at a friends and 1 at my uncles. Dont think we will stay until midnight at either though as Pip is so wriggly and grumpy and wants to crawl round which of course he wont be able to.
I thought I should take something for each host but didnt want to go to any shops, no wait.....cant afford to go to any shops! :rotfl:I didnt want to end up spending a fortune on flowers or a bottle of wine that no one really wanted so I have baked some cookies. Ive got some cellophane bags left from snowman soup and poop so I am going to make them look pretty and they taste yum, not that Ive tasted any!!:D

Well I am off for another bout of cleaning.

I wish you all well for 2010, I hope we stick together again and can whack some debts and have happy healthy years x x

  • HAPPY NEW YEAR to you Pipsmum and family too. Have a great time tonight, cookies sound lovely! You have freaked me out now. My house looks like a tip and I am at work, need to get home quick and get it sorted, perhaps thats where I have been going wrong all these years!!!!!

Just been out to the shops in my break to get trainers for DH which he saw online with JD (using his Christmas money he got) and the shops are awful. Ended up buying a few more bits of food for tonight as I am always scared of running out!!
