It was actually easy really. Got vouchers from doing stupid annoying surveys and saved them up. Also kept all my advantage card points for the year and took full use of the sales. :T

Ive got this week off work too as Hols so I can get ready for Pips party on Saturday. He is having a Teddy bears picnic and we have 20 peeps coming. Going to do some simple tea party type foods, sarnies, biscuits, things on sticks. I am also making his cake. Ive got to go to the hire shop on Wednesday to get the 1 shaped cake tin and then I am going to make butter frosting, dye it green with food colouring and !!!!! it with a fork to make it look like grass and then I bought 3 marzipan bears and some icing flowers to dot round like a teddy bears picnic. If I can make it look as good as it does in my head it will be great! :rotfl:

I am really loving being at home again. Wish I didnt have to return to work next week. :o Its little things like having the time to make the bed properly with the throws and cushions on to make it look pretty rather than just throwing the duvet back on! :D

It is very cold and frosty here so I have just prepared a rice and chicken casserole to go into oven later. I found it on this site http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/ its American but really cute. Ive had a few meals from here and they all taste good and are dead cheap to make as she uses a lot of "fillers" like rice, pasta and potatoes. Sometimes you need to do a little tweaking to get it from American to English but overall I like it.:j

Just found out I am £72 over overdraft  as the rent for the flat had gone up and I didnt realise and account for it. Will get OH to transfer some over ASAP to stop huge charges as I dont get paid until 15th.

  • ooh thanks for the website, will have to have a good look on there as my meal plan needs a bit of a shake up (seem to have the same old food) and really want to try and stay away from processed stuff as much as possible (but given OH's cooking skills it may be just on my days off that it happens)

ooooooooooooh lovely cuddle, thanks Fay x x

Ive just paid another £7 off of Lucius :j Another £7 that I was going to spend on something else but resisted.

Went and got Pips Cake tin, its smaller than I thought it would be and has no bottom to it so that might be interesting! Was VERY lucky, went into Mr Sainsbugs to get butter and other cakey type ingredients and looked in the whoopsie section. Imagine my delight when I found 3 chocolate cake mixes reduced to 35p each!! Its everything you need, just poor it into the tin and bake, yay :j Rags will post pics...........if it looks nice! :rotfl::rotfl:

Hope your cake building went ok Mummy!

Ive spent the first of my £100 clothes limit. Bought a £3 pair of leggings to wear in the house and UNDER my jeans/trousers as it is sooooo cold here. Snow keeps starting then stopping but freezing cold stays. freddo2.gif

The chicken and rice casserole last night was really yummy and filling. Several things on there also for a slow cooker which i am seriously considering, hmmmmmmmmmmm.

  • If the cake tin has no bottom just make sure you put it on a FLAT baking tray. i tried one a while ago and my baking tray had warped slightly so my cake came out a little uneven. cant wait to see pics................yay on the reduced cake mix!!!!!!

well done on the payments to lucius, i watched the half blood prince the other day and thought of you and fay! (didnt really get the film though, felt as though i had missed one somewhere??)

Gonna sit down later and go through the website you posted..............with my pen and paper of course! all the recipes look tasty and simple.

I knew the queen of cakes would be able to help me with no bottom! Ha ha! :rotfl::rotfl:Thank you for the tip, going to try and line it with greaseproof too and poke the mixture into all the nooks and crannies.

Half blood prince meh! It was OK but book much better, film felt really bitty and was hard to follow when you knew the plot so if you didnt, no chance!

The recipes are really easy (well they are for hillbillys!:rotfl:) and Ive tried a few and they were yummy.

  • I would just place a sheet of greaseproof on the baking sheet and put a thin layer of melted butter in your mould........much easier than faffing bout trying to get it to fit. :)

Glad it wasnt just me who got losty on the film.........was beggining to feel very blonde.
