I use the Rachel Allan recipe for banana loaf. Got the book at home, will type you the recipe later (if I remember, please PM me if I don't lol!)

This recipe adds in orange zest, I just use some orange flavouring. Also chopped pecans and walnuts are optional, I add whatever nuts I have in the cupboard. And it uses some 'organic black cherries' or something, I use my big tub of glace cherries :-)
Can't think of anything smart to put here...

Have just done saverholic's recipe, it's in the oven now. Didn;t have enough bananas so adjusted other quantities to fit and it looks pretty hopeful so far!

Will try the other recipes another time - good to have a bit of variety.

I cook mine in the oven, but I made one on the evening of the 22nd and we are eating the last of it today/tomorrow, so I'd say it lasts five days at least, which is great. Mine is in a Lock and Lock 'tupperware' box.

Have just had a catastrophic fail with some banana bread, and wondered if anyone could give me a tried and tested recipe.

I basically adapted one from the More with Less book using ordinary flour instead of soy flour and put it in the oven at 180 for 30 mins. I tested it with a skewer which did come out clean, but when I turned it out, still hot for my hungry kids, the centre was still liquidy batter

Its back in the turned off oven now to see if it firms up a bit, and if so could be used maybe for trifle or something, but I am really surprised it didn't cook in the time I gave it. it was made in a 2lb silicon loaf tin if that makes a difference. Any ideas what went wrong?
