Quick correction from my post 4:

Gas is 4% cheaper but electricity has a 23% increase to the 'standing charge' and a 15% increase to unit price. (Changes in your region may be different.)

Have you noticed that the Economy 7 tariff on websaver is much cheaper than Click 6.

    For London

    Tier 1(500kWh PA) Click 6 = 32.214p - Websaver = 27.745p a 14% reduction
    Tier 2 Click 6 = 13.356p - Websaver = 11.505p a 14% reduction
    Night Rate Click 6 = 4.986p - Websaver 4.263p a 14% reduction

    More confusion marketing!!

I understand websaver has a £30 charge to leave each fuel. Even matey boy from British Gas who I spoke to earlier said that was the case.

I, for one, won't be going on anything like that while we have the possibility of lower charges being brought in at anytime.

Heh, heh. So they've increased the price [strike]of gas[/strike]* this year yet again! Way to go, British Gas! Guess the Click 6 users should be happy - they are now cheaper than the new tariff compared to the Click 5 - Click 6 changeover. (Maybe. Or are the Click 6 users getting their increase in 65 days?)

    * Oops. See post 8, below.
I'm sorry Kim but I really don't see how this equates to a price rise?

People on Click Energy 6 will remain on Click Energy 6 but Click Energy 6 was a tariff that is no longer available. It has been withdrawn. I thought people on here would have been smart enough to realise that Click Energy 6 was probably a loss leader and the amount of people switching to it means it would eventually be withdrawn or replaced.

Yes the charges are more expensive but it doesn't equate to a price rise. People who wish to switch to British Gas will see the prices and decide wether or not it's beneficial to switch or not BUT a price rise isn't being forced on existing customers.

People like yourself creating topics on here about a THIRD price rise etc. is just down right lies in my opinion but you continue to do what you have to do with your vendetta against whatever companies you choose whilse giving people information that is just WRONG.
  • I'll tell you what's downright lies - having your tariff changed to a more expensive one without being notified.

    Give us a break.

Who's tariff has been changed without being notified? If you're on Click 6, you will remain on Click 6

?!? So YOU wrote the algorithm for the Direct Debit calculator.*

?!? Falsely, falsely associated. Since when have I been partial? I have frequently mentioned SOL## and Click# objectively disregarding their histories and others' prejudices against their companies.

    * Whoops. Don't tell She Who I May Not Name that I mentioned monthly Direct Debits in a thread that didn't start out on that topic.

I applied for Click 6 weeks ago. This is the first I heard from them today and they have put me on higher than applied for units. I think they have put me on a new tariff but I applied for Click 6 as I specifially wanted the 17p units and NO charge for changing as I wanted to be free to do whatever I wanted in the New Year. What do we do with them? I am now better off not changing but everything is all in action!

I suppose I call British Gas?

...and as for my situation, I'm not even sure. I have actually found a paper bill somewhere and the tariff is nowhere on it. Why would the tariff be hidden?

Surely a price rise equates to anyone who is not a fixed or capped tariff having their prices increased? That has not happened here.....?

I have no issue with you saying that British Gas have withdrawn Click 6 and replaced it with a different tariff which is more expensive because that is true. Saying British Gas have raised prices for a third time this year isn't true and therefore is misleading to other forum readers.

People come on here for advice who are genuinely worried about rising bills and they do not get an impartial view from certain members of the forum. I'm not saying it's you Kim but particular members come into the threads spitting there venom not thinking about tbe original poster.

Direct Debits are a different subject for a different thread but I can tell you the examples I have looked at that have been raised via the media or MP's have been bang on give or take a couple of quid.

Then the poster needs to contact the call centre and resolve the situation. If the call centre agent cannot resolve the issue then speak to that persons team manager until it is resolved.

As for the tariff it's usually pretty well highlighted. I don't receive paper bills but on my online bill it looks like this...
