Have all you British gas customers noticed the new BG tariff, they have dropped "click energy" and are calling it WebSaver1.

£60 forfeit if you switch away before Sep 09. Good news, or bad news, depending on how you feel about corrupt cashbacks.

Yeah, same complicated discounts, £30 for each fuel cancellation fee if you leave before ..(I forget when the date is) and it say it will be 10% cheaper than their standard rates (not hard) until whenever the date is.

Would be ok if it wasnt for the cancelation fees.

I wont be leaping onto it put it that way!
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

Heh, heh. So they've increased the price [STRIKE]of gas[/STRIKE]* this year yet again! Way to go, British Gas! Guess the Click 6 users should be happy - they are now cheaper than the new tariff compared to the Click 5 - Click 6 changeover. (Maybe. Or are the Click 6 users getting their increase in 65 days?)

    * Oops. See post 8, below.
  • LOL. No thanks. I'll stick to the so-called corrupt cashbacks.
    Call me Carmine....

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??
  • If they were as good at extracting gas as they were urine, I reckon we wouldn't be worrying about energy bills this Winter...

  • On my modest annual energy expenditure :o of 220.00 electricity and in order to get dual fuel comparison results 10.00 gas a year. Websaver 1 is shown as 29.00 year more expensive than Click 6 that ive nearly left. ( 13%)

E.O.N Track and Save is shown as a further 40.00 more expensive, with BG Standard tariff a further 10.00 more expensive. :(

I fear other energy companies will now follow and introduce cancellation fees for variable rate tariffs. :(

As for "Corrupt Cashbacks", just means we will have to switch to more expensive tariffs which will make us even more eager to switch again ASAP. ;)

Quick correction from my post 4:

Gas is 4% cheaper but electricity has a 23% increase to the 'standing charge' and a 15% increase to unit price. (Changes in your region may be different.)
  • I believe I was on Click Energy but - without any sort of notification - I have been switched to "Standard". Am I being ripped off (more than most people I mean)? Since they've "disappeared" any trace of Click Energy I can't really compare the tariff to the one they've moved me onto. Also, am I entitled to any cashbacks? I didn't sign up online but I'm on dual fuel.

I applied for Click 6 weeks ago. This is the first I heard from them today and they have put me on higher than applied for units. I think they have put me on a new tariff but I applied for Click 6 as I specifially wanted the 17p units and NO charge for changing as I wanted to be free to do whatever I wanted in the New Year. What do we do with them? I am now better off not changing but everything is all in action!

I suppose I call British Gas?

I would contact them via their contact us facility on the webpage and tell them that you applied for Click 6 and that unless they agree to put you on Click 6 then you wish for the matter to be treated as a complaint.
