Travelodge £9 rooms from 30th December

We have used these £9 room deals in 2 different travelodges. I don't know if we were just unlucky. but the rooms were disgusting.
Old stained furnishings, smelly, filthy carpets, stained walls, mouldy bathroom etc. Never again unless people can suggest nice travelodges to stay in.
We had to cut our stay short as we just couldnt stay in the room any longer than 1 night even though we had booked 3!!
(We have stayed with this chain plenty of times, but full price in other areas and have had no problems here)"If you want to feel rich, just count the things you have that money can't buy":j0 -

Why don`t you name the two Travelodges?0 -
Yes, I would be interested to know the 2 plus when you went0

to add a bit of balance, just back from 2 nights in Covent Garden TL.
3 rooms, 2 nights - £54 - a great bargain and first class rooms and service.
Yes, you cannot book in a minute early without paying for the privilage, but it does say this on the website.
...but super clean spacious rooms, nice clean basic bathroom, tv with plenty of channels and even a kettle and coffee/tea - c'mon - a great deal.0 -
I once stayed at Marylebone in London - Its one of those 'in need of a refurb ones' but has such friendly staff there, stayed there 3 times now and they have been nice every time.
Anyway first room I got a key to was horrible like a sauna with water dripping off the bathroom light and mould - obvious damp issue.
I just went to reception asked them quietly for a different room and got a much better room - if Im not happy with the room even on the £9 deals I would go back to reception and ask for another room.
Be interested to know which ones you have had a bad time at?Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

I think all the cheap rooms at Torquay must have gone, I booked the last week in July, Saturday to Saturday, and couldn't believe I got all 7 nights for £9 per night - I booked as soon as the offer started tho'.
Also we have stayed in a few travelodges now, and although some are a little more tired than others we have never had a bad one, they have always been clean and spacious and servicable." If cats could speak they would lie! "0 -

Personally, I would have got great use of my digital camera, complained vociferously at the time and generally be looking for at the very least a new room...or if I had to suffer what was there a refund or compensation....who knows....perhaps even 3 nights at a different location later on in the year...to be honest...if you dont complain at the time...or do it retrospectively without evidence...its a bit late complaining on a forum...and if you were so disgusted...as another poster says....name the lodges...perhaps then others wont suffer your fate...AND Travelodge may notice a drop in numbers using that venue...the more complaints the better....after all...how can they fix it if they don't know its broken?I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j
Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:0 -
Thanks Karie and scorpiokitten as we have the TL booked in Covent Garden and was a bit worried. Do you know if any of the rooms are better than others as I was told it is in 2 seperate buildings?0
