Eve, try the www.travelodge.co.uk/mobile site and put in various dates for the travelodges you want-as the main site has been like that all day and it freezes when you get so far.

For anyone who has booked Marylebone be wary if at check in you get given room 306. We have stayed here twice now and been given this room on both occasions. It is a very small double room right at the front and the last time we stayed (on a sunday night) we didn't get any sleep due to the noise - no double glazing!!

What happens if you book a room and cant make it? Obviously you dont get your £9 back, but they dont fine you or anything do they?

I want to book a room in London for a night for my Mums birthday, anytime really but i'd want to take her to a West End show. Anyone know where would be the best hotels to try for this and if there is any avalability left? I'm having real trouble with the site!

The Covent garden ones pretty central but a lot are on good tube/bus routes. There is one at Euston, Farrington is a fair walk well about 10 mins from Kings cross.

Id try Cov garden, Marylebone, City road, Liverpool St, or there are the ones like Tower Bridge?

Trip advisor has lots of reviews.

My faves are Cov garden nice rooms there or Marylebone - bit dated there but nice staff and right by tube and the West End bus.

If late at night a taxi back from the theatre might be a good idea?

There are a few good prices left for early may (first bit the site takes you to) - those mentioned above are easily accessible to the West end by tube.

Nope, I just tried and it shows busy! Keep trying, I usually get there in the end - and you say you're flexible.

update - just clicked on it again and it opened.

No, we 'cancelled' recently - they were OK over it. It's nice to ring I think so they can re-let it. I got the direct number from 'Say No' - wasn't having the 0870 nonsense!

Thanks so much for all your help.

I have finished booking my rooms now and were all very happy, kids are gonna get some amazing days out this year, and they'll not be to stressed with the long drives as well be having a brill day then chilling out in a hotel before our drive back the following morning.

There are still loads of £9 rooms left - i used the mobile link, i had a good idea of the are i wanted to be in as i used the aa route planner and that shows all the travelodge's on route from there you can put the travelodge name into the mobile link and then fiddle with the dates till you find a £9 room.
