    Morning All :santa2:,

Hester - Have fun, £90 .
Taplady - Hope all goes well

When i read through this thread as it getting nearer to Xmas i'd love to have the benny hill tune to accompany my reading:rotfl:. what with everyone fitting this in rushing here, it just seems apt some how :D

Plan of action today, tidy up ie hoover, BR, WM, TD, Baking to consist of weetabix brownies, Sticky ginger cake (didn't make it y/day), T will be Potato Pie.

I think i may have converted my DD1 to OS, i offered to pay for her school dinner today as a treat it being last day of term and all, her reply was no i'll have packed lunch .

Ok i'm off.......i am going to try really hard not to return until all the above has been completed.. ;)

Yeah, I'm lucky like that. Master Ivy would always rather have his mum's packed lunch rather than school meals!

This morning in Ivy Mansions...Have 2 people coming in a bit for manicure/pedicure etc. One is a paying customer and one is a birthday treat for a friend. Before then I need to sort my room a bit as the craft stuff from making Christmas cards has taken over. Need to flick the heating over as well, otherwise client will freeze!

DS now off school so can have the left over impossible quiche from last night for his lunch. The chorizo, peppers, onion combo was quite nice, I liked it so much better than with proper pastry, but Mr Ivy disagreed. He prefers pastry. When he starts making quiche, he can do it with proper pastry, but until then...

Hmmm what will we eat tonight? Need to get some spicy food in over the next couple of days, as food over Christmas will be relatively plain. Maybe lentil & chickpea curry from the freezer if there is nothing pressing to use froom the fridge.

Seems like a few of you are getting better. Hope you're all well for the Big Day.

  • Morning guys...

Today, I am going to work on some academic stuff I need to do mainly. Which is dull, but I have a relatively tidy house to do it in after a bit of clean through yesterday.

I am quite pleased with myself as I have used leftovers for all of the week for DD's packed lunches. We have 2 more evening meals at home together this year now, as we are off for Christmas elsewhere. I am going to make some soup for the journey on sunday and put it in the flask so that we don't buy stuff at the service station. I need to get a couple of bits to make a paella for tomorrow night when we will be having 'our christams' at home. I will need to rush a round a bit tomorrow. But I am determined to get to the beach.

All the washing done. It looks a bit like a chinese laundry round here!

    have a good day everyone.

    Good morning all!

Taplady - thinking of you today, hope it goes well xx

Jackie - burgled twice, argh! Glad it was only your shed though x

Hester - enjoy your party, where are you off to at that price?!

Stef and Pam - we have the same thing with non uniform days, I always have to gear myself up for a fight!

N9eav - glad you're feeling better, and that the party went well - brave chap organising it though, I hate being left to sort it all out, not done it this year, left it to someone else, have organised flowers for her though!

Vicky - hope it all goes well for your mum xx

Halight - finger's crossed that things are okay at work today

Mudgekin - good luck on the job hunting front

Sybil - hope the little bear proofing of your house is effective! I lowered the cot sides once mine started to climb and made sure they could do it safely! Think they even had a little stool as well, it was easier than trying to stop them!

Ageandjo - good luck with the move for your mum

Thriftlady - glad ds is doing well, hope he's pleased with the results and not too sore

    Fizzel - hugs to you

Beth - have a fantastic time with your db and his family, you are a lovely sister

Tru - ooh, I can still remember all your outings the last time Mr T was off work!

Well the weather is very mild here today, good news as I need to go out to the bank and then into town to find some pirate accessories for work tonight - we're dressing up, no idea what pirates have to do with Christmas though! Also need to get one of my best friend's his pressie, not quite sure what to get him, main pressie all sorted out but need some funny bits! It'll be fun having a browse around the poundshop though, if I can fight my way through!

OS today will hopefully involve making mince pies and getting the washing sorted and put away, but we shall see!

Good news is that the boilerman came again yesterday and we now have warmth! Not had the bill yet, so don't know what the bad news is, eek!

I went to the Carols in the Barn yesterday, didn't stay till the end as felt like rubbish, but it was lovely. We are so lucky living in a village that has such a community spirit.

Oh and more good news, my turkey was being plucked yesterday! Think it's being delivered on Christmas Eve, hope it'll fit in the oven, else I can see it turning into a comedy sketch here!

Right, going to grab some brekkie and have a browse and then get moving! Have a good day all, hugs to the poorlies and those who need one xx

    Morning everyone!

am up late today as I woke with a migraine in the early hours and had to take some pills and go back to bed, thankfully am a lot better now.
DH bless him was up at 2am to go to work early so he could finish in time for the funeral.

  • Good morning everyone. Cold here today, however dry for the moment. How long that will last is anyone's guess. DH is off to work and I've been spening the last hour going through emails, doing my survey sites and enjoying the posts here with hot coffee.

Did the heavy cleaning yesterday so not much to do in the flat today. :j Was nice waking up to a clean and tidy flat. For my cluttered brain (or lack thereof, ;)) when things are done and in their place I feel better mentally.

Informed the DH this morning that I either get the decorations up today for Christmas or was going to toss them. He wisely refrained from commenting. :rotfl: I just have a wee bit of rearranging to do and put them where I want. I just don't seem to have the motivation this year. The pressies are bought and only a couple to wrap. Just have to go ahead and do it now.

I need a few things from the grocery that I can't wait until Monday (payday) to get so am going to head out there in a few. I've done very well this month using up food from the freezer and pantry and feeling good about that.

I quickly wrote out some Christmas cards for DH's work colleagues and for the other people in our block of flats this morning. Sent DH off with his and dropped the others through their mail slots. Yay another thing I can cross off the ever growing "To Do" list.

I've decided to cut myself some slack with my daily clicks at the cashback sites until the new year. If I get them done, wonderful, if not I'll get back to them.

Oh yeah, OS stuff today I am determined to bake some goodies today. Not sure what yet, but something for sure. :rotfl: For tea tonight, I'm cooking a full breakfast. We love that once in a while.

Lots of gentle ((((((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))))))) for any and all who want or need them today.

Remember to treat yourself as kindly as you would your dearest friend.

Making a quick exit to the Benny Hill Theme song. :rotfl: Thanks for the grin.:D

  • Morning Chums just of to see my beautiful DD who is one of the lights of my life bless her .She is 39 today and such a lovely caring person with her large tribe I hope to spoil her rotten as she works so hard for everyone else.
I bought my Remoska yesterday and the lady was trying to sell me the cook book at the same time I said I would wait and put it on my 'possible presents that I would like for my birthday' list only about 6 weeks to go anyway.I thought by that time I will have mastered the different way of cooking !!
Yes twice in a row my shed got burgled ,I was cross but its not the end of the world ,most of the stuff I didn't use anymore as I just don't bend like I used to when it comes to gardening. Bit scary having someone in the back garden though. Still, to get into the house they would have to get through two double glazed doors that have locks that are all the way down the edge of the door,by which time I would be on the phone to the plod insisting that there was someone with a suspicious looking object in their hand .Just telling them it may be a burgular won't get them shifted in our area. The local plods shop only works 10-4 mon-fri so if you happen to get done after hours unless you think they've got a gun you won't see hide nor hair of a plod.
had a great day yesterday though and the movie was good.Right I must get a wriggle on or my smashing kid won't get her pressies
<<hugs to those in need>> and a big ;) to the rest of you
    Take care
    JackieO xx
  • Morning All!
Haven't been on here for ages, been trying to get over another MS relapse, and didn't have the energy to do so!:o
Still feeling better today, I can move my toes!:T
Went to our local MS societies Xmas lunch yesterday. Lovely lunch, in a posh hotel. 143 of us. Great day.
Just want to wish everyone:xmassign: while I think of it!
(((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) to all who are not too good.

Tesco coming Sunday, and you can't get into our house properly!
The builders have been in, building a platform for my outside stair-lift and it's not dry yet, so I'm not sure how to get all my food in!:rotfl: Maybe they can put it in the garage till Monday (There's a freezer in there)

Anyway, have a good day all.
