  • Hi everyone,

A little update for you all and it is my 500th post :j

Very quiet on the BR front - I have had one call from a creditor and I actually answered the phone! :D
I relished telling them that I was made BR on Monday....;) No one else wants to hassle me though......

I haven't heard from the OR yet - looks like it will be next week. I can live with that! No news is good news.

The Co-op fiasco - I haven't heard anything back after sending off my 3 letters. It will be interesting to see what everyone says. They still haven't refunded the £2.20 disputed direct debit though - I wonder if they are using this £20 lower limit excuse again? I may have to bite the bullet and call them again, risking coming up against "mrs m" again......

So that's it really - I am still finding it strange spending cash and not using plastic, a better "strange" though and I don't spend anywhere near as much. Makes it all so real now. And cutting back on my hours has done wonders for my health and mood!

    TaTa for now

Yeah I think I am gonna find that too. I will def be better at budgeting if I didn't use plastic everywhere (even though its just from my debit card, not a credit card).

Think I will cut back on hours too. The more I earn the more I will lose
Money, money, money. Must be funny, in a rich man's world.

    Hi marlowvian
That is exactly the issue - some may say that I am avoiding paying my creditors by ducking an IPA but the way I see it I will be working endless hours overtime for half the normal wage ..... it's just not worth my while, I'm afraid.
It's different if the surplus comes from just a normal monthly salary, I don't think I would begrudge it.

    Hi everyone!

I have just had the first contact from my OR's office - she was nice, not too friendly which is probably the right balance.

she called at 3.20pm and was on the phone for 15 minutes.

at the start she asked me if it was convenient to call - I was making a scrambled egg snack for the kids - for some reason - I nearly said no!   I don't know why really but I had the strong gut instinct to say "can you call back"...........would have been a silly thing to do so I bit that response back and said "yes its fine" then made some other stupid comment about as long as the kids didn't make too much noise. :wall:

Anyway, she was just calling to confirm my name and address, previous addresses, house status (which is neg equity + mortgage), she confirmed which bank account I was wanting to use which I said was the coop account, she said she would write to the other bank accounts I had and tell them to close them.

she asked me if I had a car or shares etc, No to the car question, Yes to the shares one. I have some employee free shares which are tied up for three years I think but I didn't know for certain so I have to find out more about that at work. The lady said they would be interested in them if they could be released in a certain time period (I guess she means before discharge).

She said she was sending me paperwork through the post and it would have some info leaflets in it. Then she said she was going to get my soa through the court and have a look and then she would be back in touch with me if necessary. I think they will contact me again because I do need to answer the shares questions so I don't expect it is all over yet. But it has broken the ice so to speak.

She gave me her name and number and asked if I had any worries I needed to ask her about, No. And that was that. Will wait for the next call now.

Sorry Don, didn't see your post until I have signed on this morning.... :o

I decided to have a night off from the board, catch up with some tv and grab an early night. In bed by 10.00pm. I haven't been sleeping very well so I was trying to get some catch up. I feel a bit better this morning.
    I am working from 1 until 8 today and 1 - 5 tomorrow - not too bad.
I am going to work on my "hows, whys and whens" today for the OR interview. It is pretty straghtforward.. umm, I borrowed from one, paid them back and didn't have enough to live on so borrowed again, and again, and again..... you know how it goes

I can't wait for payday - it has been such a long month. We got paid early in Dec because of Christmas and all the surplus got used for my BR fees and now it is 6 weeks until the next payday..... definitely some DFW recipes being used in chez startagain!

    Anything planned for the weekend?

    Hi YM, HI SA :hello:

I am ok, thanks. been at work today, home now looking after the kids. OH has gone to work so all on my own tonight and tomorrow! no plans for weekend - just me and the kids. But I do have a bottle of red wine I was saving that I think I will open.

I have got to tell the OR about how I balance transferred my way from month to month paying bills! It's all about timing! then the money was spent on food, petrol, nursery fees, clothing for the kids.

Getting shopping delivered on Tuesday - have squeezed as much possible out of the budget to get as much food for the freezer as possible and even then I think I will have overloaded it! homemade fish pie and veg for tea last night with the leftover frozen for my OH to take to work for his meals. :o

this was meant to be the first month that could properly budget and not have to worry too much about getting xxx amount of food for xxx amount of pound but OH's work have only gone and stuffed up his overtime payment this month so he won't be getting it. Which means back to tightest budget possible as we have the £250 kennel bill at the end of the month! which we were going to use OH's overtime for - won't be doing that now.

    Hope you are all ok?
