  • David, on the face of it you seem like a reasonable guy. However if you really believe that cold calling people on a completely random basis and trying to persuade them they've had a claim/accident is a legitimate and credible business then you need to get out more. In particular I suspect your company preys on elderly and vulnerable people and in many cases will get them into compromising situations simply through your sharp practises.

That guy posted that over 7 years ago and hasn't logged in since. Think you're a bit late to the party.....

I had two cold calls today, same woman, two different numbers 0118-435-2834 and 0148 172 5882. Ambulance chasers, whiplash whipper uppers, whatever, absolute pests.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Not had any calls from them for a while, perhaps they took the hint when I told them to !!!! off.
  • The post from David above could not illustrate more clearly the totally dishonest tactics of this bunch of crooks. They will make all sorts of excuses and claims of legitimacy but it us all codswallop. What he says about TPS needing to be renewed every year is a BIG FAT LIE. If the registration is in the name of a company then yes, but for private individuals no renewal is required. Furthermore, it's not a question of "your details are allowed to be sold if you're not on the register". Companies engaging in cold calling have a legal obligation to check the register before calling you, irrespective of how they got hold of your details. If they fail to do so, and call a registered number, they are breaking the law.

David, please get yourself a proper job, stop annoying people with your timewasting and your lies, and stop defending this totally disreputable and lawbreaking company.
  • National Accident Database. Telephone number 0203 6349437. Eventually whittled out of them that they were a Ltd company not an official organisation, which is what they were trying to infer. Suggested I had a a right to claim for my accident even though I hadn't been injured. "We don't get compensated for being a good driver, do we." was their stock response. They quoted me a basis for my claim that I have never come across in 30 years as a Personal Injury Lawyer. I pressed them time and again as to where they got my number, but wouldn't tell me, eventually she told me she was fed up of wasting HER time and hung up.
This is the Third call I have had from them, the last one was from a Liverpool number. On that occasion a very flustered lady said that I agreed, to my insurers, passing my details on to them, when I ticked the terms and conditions box, on my Compare the Market search for Car Insurance. They don't appear on the MOJ website either.

I had an accident earlier this year which was not my fault, within less than 12 hours I was receiving these calls from scam's, I accidentally let slip with one of them the name of my insurance company, Sure enough 4 days later I received a call supposedly from my insurance company about my claim, (I had an existing back injury which was made much worse) They had all the details of the accident (my make and model of car, the make and model of the other persons car and names) asked for contact details of the other people in my car and i told them that i would have to check to make sure that they were okay with me giving out their phone number.

When I rang my insurance company back they said that I had not been contacted by them since I had called them about the original accident and explained that the information they had given me regarding a so called "Category C Payment" was actually fraud perpetuated by these con men (can't exactly call them artists as they were caught out pretty easily) and if I had gone ahead with it I would be liable for criminal charges if caught.

I think these people are utterly disgusting in that they would pretend to be a legitimate insurance company (which I believe is Fraud) with an action that could land an unwitting person in prison potentially.

I would also like to warm people about someone calling from Albany Assistance about a claim which I get personally all the time, Albany Assistance was a management company which dealt with repairing cars after accidents on behalf of insurance companies and had nothing to do with injury claims, Albany Assistance have actually since changed their name to Auxillis.

All of the phoney's I spoke to (in this instance) had Scouse Accents and mentioned the National Accident Database.

    Hello,

We would like to assure you that these phone calls are not being made by our company. We have no connection with calls being made to consumers under our previous name Albany Assistance (or similar names). We believe these calls are targeting individuals to fraudulently obtain information relating to road traffic accidents and possible injuries sustained by the driver and/or passengers.

We do not, nor have ever made unsolicited out bound calls. If we contact a customer in connection with their case, we will always take appropriate security precautions to verify our own and the customer’s identity at the outset.

We have informed the police and appropriate authorities regarding these calls, but please also report any such calls yourself.

    Kind Regards,

  • Had a company cold calling me for the last 2 days saying they can get me £1500 for a 'discomfort' claim for an accident I had last week.I asked where they got my number....."NATIONAL ACCIDENT DATABASE" was the reply.Anyway to cut a long story short they seemed to convince me they were a legitimate company....said all the right things....I have been so stressed out since the accident, especially as it is only 12 months since another idiot ran into the back of me.You can imagine my nerves are shot at.They have rung me several times today, stating that I might even get £3000 for my injury......wow.....they can tell that just talking over the phone?!! I finally smelt a rat when they then asked for my NI number. Why the hell would they need that? I politely said I dont want to continue with the claim and they were very pleasant about it.BUT......now I'm worrying myself sick because they have my name, address & car reg ......christ knows what other info I might have slipped up about..I am racking my stupid brains trying to think.Plus to add to my stress I went to the bank to put money in to pay a bill and one of my notes was counterfeit. Can my week get any worse:mad:

Theyre still at it in 2019!

I get alot of these calls despite registering my number with TPS etc. etc. and of course never having been involved in an accident!

I am also self employed so unfortunately I need to answer the phone, however it also affords me some spare time while I work to tie their callers up for a few minutes, hopefully slowing down their calls to others.

I reply yes immediately to the automated message in order to get on the phone with a "real" person. They usually say they know about the accident I had recently, then proceed to ask me ALL of the details. So i give them some...I always write down and ask for clarification about how much I am due, whether all my passengers get the same or if it's shared between them and question any inconsistencies as far as possible. I sometimes jump up the injuries and number of passengers to ridiculous levels which gets them salivating. Other times I play it more realistic. When asked for a number plate I just make one up, give a fake name and a completely made up address. They obviously check for this as at this point they usually get angry at me for wasting THEIR time and hang up! (I have scrapped a car before and was wondering if I can use that to string them along a little further, but worried they may get my actual details so holding off on that one)

If I combine the above with "bad signal" (mute button), phonetically ambiguous details, calling "my wife" about certain particulars ive forgotten, people knocking at the door, rummaging around in my "office" for papers you can usually get a good 20-30 minutes out of them.

PLEASE REMEMBER, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR REAL DETAILS, EVEN IN A HOAX.
Their "companies" are not real, their telephone numbers fake, and their practices illegal. We don't know who they really are, or exactly what they do with our information. But at the very least we can slow them down.
