National Accident Database?

Had a call from them today, supposedly ARC Legal about an accident in the last three years. I told them I hadn't one and that I would appreciate it they removed my number from their database and not to contact me again, otherwise in would report them. The guy immediately called me back after I'd hung up, and when I asked why he said it was because 'it was funny to hear me go on'. I hung up again and immediately blocked the number. Have reported them to the Information Commissioner as if I'd been in a vulnerable position I would've been very shaken. As it is I'm already slightly shaken!
they're calling from a mobile number 07937 941233 now too. I've registered with TPS. Just ignore them. There is no accident database.0 -
I just had the same from a 01357 672460 number. I asked for their company number and who was their data controller under DPA. They didn't know. Wish I can find their offices0

This still seems to be going on, different phone number, different company name but still a caller with a Liverpool accent phoning about a collision. I was ignoring calls for two weeks but I finally answered to try and put a stop to it. He said he would take my number off their database, but today I have received a call from a different number, which I didn't answer, but I did an Internet search and it appears to be the same type of call, so I suspect it is the same company using a different number.
How can they claim to be a legitimate company when they are calling people about non existent collisions? I'm registered with the TPS and I never give permission for my details to be shared. What's more annoying is I don't seem to have an option to block number on my phone!0 -
This is definitely still going on. Ive just received a call from First Response Accident Claims - number blocked. The woman (Liverpudlian) said that they had got my name off the Nationational Accident Database from an accident i had in January 2013. When i asked for more details she said "you are (gave my name) and from (gave my address)?" I wouldnt confirm my details and then she shouted at me for being rude! I knew that my number was registered with TPS and that they shouldnt be calling me but its totally freaked me out that they knew my name and address. I then commented that the office she was calling from didnt sound very professional (i could hear people laughing and giggling loudly in the background) and asked her to take me off their list - again i was called rude. I stated that she had cold called me at which point she said that she had had a missed call from me (she was shouting at me at this point) which is a total lie - although the call freaked me out so much that i had to go and check my call history on my phone to make sure that i hadnt called them by accident!!!
Im not easily upset and this call has really freaked me out. She was so aggressive and rude - and them knowing my personal details scares me. Ive reported it to the TPS int he meantime.0 -
Its easy to find peoples name and address either from phone books or the internet or the edited electoral register I wouldn't worry about it. If they come up with your dob or maiden name or mothers maiden name that's when to worry.0

I think details also get passed on from other companies. I'm ex-directory and not on the edited electoral register, but they still manage to get the details from somewhere.0

I had one a couple of weeks back, don't recall the company but they had the date of my accident in 2012 exactly right "We're legally obliged to tell you there's a pot of money set aside waiting for you to claim it" lol0

Accident Associates called me this morning. Had a lot of info about my accident in February. When I challenged the source he got angry and abusive. Gave me the story about the National Accident Database, and tried to baffle me with Ministry of Justice etc etc. The guy was defo scouse, but I had answered because it was an 0191 number (my local code) and I was waiting for a call from someone else.0

National Accident Database keep phoning, I got a name Colin and their number 020 3040 2011
Reported to ICO and will continue to do so.
When I asked him for some contact details, after he gave me the number, he said they don't have an email, twigged I was after info and proceeded to tell me all the info he had on me( email address everything), and laughed saying getting info from them wasn't going to happen
Nice?0 -
I have been having months of the calls from "National Accident Database" and they keep on calling even after telling them I've sold the car and asking them to remove me from their database REPEATEDLY. Have now written to Ministry of Justice quoting that they have called my number today at the following times: 11.16, 12.11, 12.28, 12.39, 12.47, 12.57, 13.05, 13.21, 14.23, 18.04. I wont list all the times/days they have also called.
They seem to have the ability to make the call seem like its a local one as judging from the other posts they use different dialling codes. Mine is 01295......
Cant anyone do anything to stop them? Tonight I had the phone slammed down on me when I questioned that they were actually a legitimate company but I doubt that will stop them calling.
