Nyk's chicks took me for a walk down memory lane. When I was little, my Grampa and I walked weekly to a local farm for fresh eggs. There were incubators there and I used to love looking at the little yellow chicks cheeping away. I spent a lot of time with my Grampa (inherited my love of gardening from him) and any resurfaced memory always makes me happy to have known him.
BTW, the eggs were carried back home in our "egg" bag. We also used a potato bag and a wicker basket for shopping. We were green before it was fashionable!" The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

Fab news on the chicks Nyk.
Todays frugal news is I finally sussed out that by going online I could bulk buy some local bus tickets, saving 60p per ticket (normally £3.60 for an all day ticket - will now get it for £3.00. I use 1 or 2 a week).
Planted corriander and basil seeds I found in my shed.
Lynne - so your stocked up on loo roll then:D
New C Tax bill in and rise in within my estimate so on track with my 'everything else' budget.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
:j Congratulations Nyk :j . They're sooooo cute!!
I typed a long post yesterday then my poota died on me before I could save it  .
Can't remember what I was going to put but whoever it was with the stained window sills (sorry, was it one of the lindas?) have you tried Astonish? If not perhaps a very fine sandpaper may make it less noticeable.
Council tax bill came and it's nearly £50 more (long story short we were on hb but stopped and they never put it up), also rent is up by £18 this month, so nearly £70 extra to find! I think we can just manage but it may mean the savings are on hold until we adjust.Mortgage: Was: £154,495 Oct 2039 Now: £82,340.34 May 2037Swagbucks ~ £130 (2024 ~ £395)Surveys ~ £141.14 (2024 ~ £280.14)Make £2025 in 2025 #5 ~ £964.62 ~ (2024 ~ £2,561.04)0 -

Good Morning Frugalites
I hope everyone is feeling well today and that someone, somewhere is getting the good weather, it certainly isn't in our neck of the woods.
Posting here seems to have fallen by the wayside but I'll do my best to keep up in between everything else. We now have 6 chicks hatched and another, hopefully, on its way. I post the updates & pics on my blog site rather than drag this one too far off topic. But to update on the chick colours, we have 2 lavender, 2 white, one black, one striped and I'm not sure what next one is as it's only a beak poking out a shell for now. I suspect 'Captain Beaky' will be with us sometime later this afternoon. :rotfl:
I haven't been spending much, although I did get a couple of bags of coal and have ordered 2 more for a fortnight's time. I'll try and keep the coal bunker filled up so we have a head's start in autumn, same with the logs.
Kitchen cupboards are beginning to look quite bare! I'm going to have to get in shopping and that'll mean a trip into the main town so I can use my Mr T vouchers.SFT, not sure if you'll be online netween now and tomorrow but GOOD LUCK and I hope you have a fabulous day!
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Bright and windy here this morning. I'm having a NSD and a clearing out day. (again!) I'm not a handbag fanatic but when I checked I have too many so I'm taking most of them to the charity shop today. I'm keeping 4 different ones and that should be more than enough for my high flying (lol) life. So it's handbags and shoes today and hopefully something else tomorrow.
Best wishes to our brides, new mums and everyone else." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."
