And the fact I could easily fit 6x500g marge pots into the small freezer this morning bears testament to how well my 'use up' plans are going -- both freezers were heaving at the start of the month, and I've also got noticable space in the big freezer:j

This is the point at which i panic and buy more food :rotfl::rotfl:

Nyk - isnt it true that quails eggs from supermarkets will hatch if you incubate them (a colleague who used to work on a farm told me this)

:rotfl: I'm doing it to make space for a major 'restock' -- keeping my fingers crossed the clearance sale at our S'flds happens now (have been informed via 3 different members of staff now that it will be happening in the next few weeks ;) )

Well done on your vouchers cheryl. I hope the sale happens for you. We had a similar thing happen last year when kwicksave shut down. I still have tins from then.

Finally got down to doing my budget.
    petrol £100
    elec £103
    gas £142
    tv.lic £011.95
    groc. £190.22
    TOTAL £547.17
anything else £5.10 so 119.90 left for this

    Original amount £5050- £552.27 = 4497.73
I spent £38.04 for groceries on average per week based on five paydays in jan. some of this was stockpile stuff including a sack of flour and a sack of rice plus some cold meds. So I was just 73p over what I had forecast for Jans groceries.

    Hello all,

Woohoo, got my first pay cheque today. Unfortunately it really was a cheque despite me having given them my bank details. Need to get it sorted by next week. And to celebrate the occasion and because my wellies started to leak I orderd new ones. (I paid just under £60.-) Need to go now and hide behind the sofa before Nyk comes with Billy can :oscared0016.gif

Terrible headache today so will be quiet evening. If I don't update my spreadsheets by weekend can you please shout at me? Thanks.

    Marru

PS: Does anyone have a good recipe for corn tortillas? Please?

Umm, just orderd a tortilla press and 5kg of stuff to make them from. I will have a lots of corn tortillas for lunch in the future it seams....(goes to have bath before I go and do more online shopping...)

    Hiya,

I had an early finish today, was back in the hotel around 4.30, so have watched a bit of telly, and spoke to family. My brother phoned, they have cut the wee fella's hair. He has(d) a lot of hair. My SIL is indian, so he has the same hair which is very thick and lovely, but it grows ever so fast. She cut it herself but my brother said it was a bit dodgy, so they cut it again and it is better. It will be back down to his ankles by next week anyway:rotfl:

I thought I was going out to dinner tonight, but it is tomorrow, so dinner at the hotel again. The good thing is that so far this week, I have spent 6.99.:T :T

All meals have been paid for by the company so that is smashing.:D I have also worked out that I will be using a lot of fuel. What I am going to do is get another Clubcard and use this for fuel purchases only. Then I'll use this for air miles. I have noticed that my Mr T is having one of these recycling centres put onto it as well, so there may be extra points to be had there too. My uncle owns a pub, so if it turns out that you get points for recycling the cans etc, I will ask him for these and get points there as well. I might end up with an exotic holiday for not a lot of money.:D

    Will check in later. xx

Zelie, don't worry, we all do that sometimes. You can get straight back on track, don't worry :)
Skint Lynne, sounds like a good plan with the recycling! Going on holiday for cheaper sounds amazing right now - I'd give anything to be somewhere warm!
Marru, hope you feel better soon, and a tortilla press..? Lol have fun with that :rotfl:

I've had another nsd day today so that brings february's total to 8 already! I'm hoping that tomorrow will be another one, but we'll see :) I've not done much today, have had a headache all day so have just stayed and pottered around at home. I tidied my room, that kind of thing.

Sending (((HUGS))) to those who want/need one.

    sf xx

    Evening all.

Very cold here so snuggling up nice and warm by the fire with my laptop browsing MSE. Going to have a nice relaxing bath in a mo with smellies leftover from Crimbo.

Been a bit of a low spending week. A friend paid me back £40 she owed me so I will just be using that for this weeks spends and getting nothing out the bank so, technically... I will not have spent a penny as my balance will not have gone down ;)

Went to a gig in Leeds on Sunday night, the NME tour. Four fantastic bands for a bargainous £15. The coach there from Newcastle was only £1 (National Express special offer) and the train back around £9 so didnt end up costing much. I am going to find some time to go shopping this week but I have vouchers to spend thanks to lovely friends presents, so not spending real money and am still treating myself to nice things. Life can be grand sometimes :p
  • Sounds fab Sarah! It sounds like you're fitting some great social trips into your budget - I loved the sound of the trip to London as well :)

I bet the birthday money was well appreciated, Zelie, so don't worry about it. I just spent about £50 on my OH's birthday this weekend but he had a great time so money well spent I say :) just got to economise somewhere else!

Well done on the NSDs, sf... I'm up to 5 so far this month so not too bad - only 10 to go
