Bad news for me tonight - the guy who was supposed to be letting me have half his allotment has finally admitted tht he will probably never get around to clearing his building stuff off the area and so I really need to look for another lottie:mad:
Feeling a bit fed up as have been waiting for him to sort it since autumn.
Off to look for more lotties to join waiting lists:rolleyes: Don't wnt to part with chickenhouse whilst there is still hope:rotfl:

  • sorry to hear about the japanese job Andromache - good luck with the next one!
Marru good luck with the interview, hope you find a new yellow mug!

Mumzy I agree it's worth asking for a slightly lower amount, don't go too mad though!

DD bought some fruit & veg in L!dl on her way home from college today, training her ready for when she goes to uni this autumn!
Had approved foods ultra cheap spicy tomatoe sauce with mince and pasta, delicious (just as well, we have 19 more sachets).

How annoying SophiesMum! - that is such a waste of good growing land! Hope you find another lottie soon. My work has allotments, which I put my name on the list for, but as the bakeries get first dibs (I am in despatch), I doubt I will get one.

Had a NSD today and only spent 90p yesterday (I actually spent 50p and lent 40p to a friend who will probably never give it back )

Dinner was Creamy Chicken Pasta. I don't think I made it right though, as it was quite bland. Maybe it needs garlic.

Finished work 2 1/2 hours early tonight so have a whole evening free!! Am thinking of making a big pot of chilli and maybe bacon and sweetcorn chowder. I will try and do some Ebay listings.

I'm so excited!! I just sold my first thing on Amazon!! I only listed it last night - happened to look at my emails a few minutes ago, and it's gone!!

    YAY!!

Advice please : where does ebay / amazon money fit into my budget? Do I just land it in with other income? Thanks

    Ola everyone...

Hope you are all well. Arrived back in from Barcelona this evening and have been catching up with email/accounts/children etc, but thought I would show my face so you don't all think I've given up!!

I've got to put a 'to-do' list together for the next couple of days and I will update my signature...it's going to be scarey!!

Apart from that, Barcelona is a beautiful city, I was very pleasantly surprised. I even think I would go back and take he children. I found the language tricky, though, so I'd have to try and learn a bit...anyway..I'm just waiting for DH to get back, he got a later flight than me so I'm going to do a quickish tidy and start on my list....will catch you all tomorrow......
  • SM-So sorry to hear about the allotment. Could you not offer this chap a deal, you'll take a working party down and blitz the area if he turns up and lets you know if there is anything he must keep.
You've had some tough luck recently about your chickens..but don't give up the dream yet.. X
    FM-Sounds like a great break.
Fizzel-Try to keep up all your good habits. Another mouth to feed shouldn't have too big an impact. Even if you have to adjust..remember how much you've achieved lately.
    Marru-Good luck for tomorrow.
Andromache-Sorry to hear about Japan..Maybe something even better will come along.
Keep up the good work Mumzy.
Nyk-I would love to live without money if I could survive like that..never been materialistic..so grateful for what I have but I feel overwhelmed by it sometimes and would love to simplify. OH getting a job has meant that we could be mortgage free by 2011 and that would be a good time to give up teaching but since I've starting thinking about it I've almost found my job twice as hard. Do work with a very difficult person which doesn't help. Probably just need a break from it all. Sorry rant over. 2nd TR is right , I should be counting my blessings just wish I didn't feel exhausted all of the time.

  • Just had couple of hours at the gym swimming etc, and been looking on council website for allotments in borough. CW there is a huge one in Tyl with about 50 plots on it, a few near me but mostly smaller ones 9 or 10 plots, have emailed them to go on list for one. Also have some addresses for private ones so will write to some of those too. Haven't given up yet:D

Marru / fizzel - good luck for tomorrow.

  • Marru - forgot to say earlier - lots of luck for tomorrow.
SM - very sorry to hear about the allotment on top of the chicken disappointment.I'm suprised who ever runs these allotments don't have some sort of rules re having to use your allotment or you lose it? They are not intended to 'store building stuff' .

SFT - don't add to your burden with 'shoulds and oughts' about counting blessings:grouphug: : you sound worn out and it's no fun coping with endless fatigue (and a difficult work colleague). Is there any way you can do as little as possible this coming weekend (virtually impossible to teachers I know). NO extra jobs or xtra frugalling tasks?

Fizzle - hope the phone call comes early in the day.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
