Food for thought for all readers - if you had NO DEBTS and, more importantly, NO MONEY, where would your priorities lie?
Um okay, so I have no debt if we ignore the mortgage for a minute (although I have lost my house, my fiance and all my savings previously so do know how it feels) but if I had no money...my priorities would be my OH and my family, taking care of them and making us all happy; growing our food; teaching in exchange for skills we don't have; spending time in the outdoors;learning. Sounds pretty wonderful actuallyThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Yes that will be the one, in our boots they had the blue bottles for 37p and the orange/cream coloured ones for 73p - either way you made more on the deal in points than what you spent:T0 -

Yes i got the last orange/cream one. The shampoo was 37p too but that had all gone. Im liking the look of the new range though but there £3 odd. But in tesco they are £2.90 something with BOGOF.. I use herbal essence too :T But dont think i would spend that much on a bottle of shampoo!Sealed Pot dec 08 - dec 09 so far £27.67, Live off £4k Spent £330.20 GC £1,200 for 2009 Spent £50.78 PaD so far £650.07Debts: L/woods £154.00 C/One PAID O/D £649.90 Next £299.95 O/D PAID Gas £72.60 Electric £155.73 Mum £640.00 Orange £490.320 -

Hello,
can't believe I stayed away from this site for so long. Good to be back, although it's still quite tough to keep up with all the posts. Anyway, I've been thinking about methods to get back on track with my spending next month after this month's disaster. Shopping and cooking are already back to frugalish. I've read ages ago that some of you take out all the money they have assigned for the month's budget and put in separate purses for different spending categories. When it's gone it's gone, but it seems a good option to avoid using cards and withdraw all the time. I'll try that too. Since I got a sewing machine from Santa Claus I'll make a few and use them. Or I'll make just one that also fits my spending booklet that I definitely need to start using again.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Good Afternoon!
I have been busy trying to get things done and also tried to get some rest as well hence switching my comp off earlyish in the evenings.
Nothing major to report from here. My £4k budget is doing brilliantly (sig updated yesterday) and thanks to that I have been able to borrow money from there to my Other budget (which gets updated monthly). Only extravagant thing I really want to buy for myself is a yellow mug. I used to have one but then boiler repair man broke it so I am on the hunt for a new one. It is to cheer me up in the mornings when I have my first cup of tea. Did try Ike@ but their yellow ones weren't the right shape for me. Talking about particular.
Actually I bought my first yellow mug when I started in a new job after Uni and I have job interview lined up for tomorrow so perhaps this is a "yellow mug luck thingy". I wasn't nervous about the interview until I checked their website and found out all that they are doing and how widely internationally they have spread. But the team I would be working with is nice and small so fingers crossed.
Anyway, back to cleaning piggy poo and then walking the dogs.
Hope everyone is having a lovely day!

Marru,
I always have a red one in the morning for my cup of coffee! Gets me active!:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

I've been looking through all the PAYG offers and I'm soooo confused. They all offer different freebies which makes comparisons tricky. I can't decide between Orange and Vodafone. With Orange £10 top up gives 300 texts/mth and 120 evening and weekend calls - so all I would have to do is stay off the phone during the day! When you top up £5 with Vodafone you get free weekday texts for the month (£10 is weekend as well)
I mostly call my mum so need to do this at the weekend when its free from my landline or get her to call me;) . I mostly text friends and OH is happy to call me if I text him when he's at work. So I thought I'd try Vodafone??? But I'm hopeless at decisions.....
If I stuck to £5 a month I would save £225 from March (end of contract) so I could afford to take 2 courses in Sept - Spanish and dressmaking.
mumzy - I tried the new pink Herbal Essences straightening shampoo (I got it in the US 2years ago) and it was fine for a few weeks then my hair got very greasy and limp -apparently because of the deposits it leaves on hair to keep it straight. So wouldn't recommend the straightening one - no idea about the others though"I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better." Paul Theroux0 -
