I don't think I want to buy expensive stuff and I don't need anything. But I do have a huge urge to spend money didn't think I had a problem but I have never written a spending diary for 13 days straight before.
i just feel you all sitting on my shoulder saying do you really need that and of course the answer is no. i know i will thankyou later in the year.

    Morning everyone!

Still struggling to keep up with this thread! Anyways, an update...

Popped into Matalan and Lidl yesterday and spend 12.69 and 4.35:) Have added this to my total which now stands at 188.55

    19.08 per day x 13 days = 248.04

    so 59.49 under budget:T

    January = 591.60 budgeted less £188.55 spent = 403.05 left for month:D

    Hoping for a NSD today:j

    Morning Everyone...

    Gosh this thread is busy!
I've got to popinto town today for a MS and I'm going to do some clothes shopping! Not sure if it will come out of the budget. I'd really like to keep as much s possible in the budget so I can see how much I'm spending and learn to cut back more in some months...
We are in Barcelona at the end of the month so the clothes are for then. I seem to have some tops and some trousers but not many actually go together, normally I don't really care but as I'm away with the DH, I thought I'd make an effort!

DD2 is making pasta bake at school today so that dinner, with salad. I've got to find lunch but that will probably be something with salad too.

Other than that, I've got some serious house tidying/cleaning to get on top of....

Hope you all have a good day...
  • I'm having a bad day today already. My living room light has done the same as the dining room light and packed in. I'm gutted as these lightws were £150 each from Deb only 2 years ago, and the transformers have packed in on them. Well i can't afford to replace them, so i guess we will be sat with no lights on till the weekend and then DH will have to put the ropes and bulbs back in that we had for 3 years before i saved up and found these ones that were the only ones i liked and would work in our house. (others were too low when hung)

Anyway, DH is under the impression that Deb should do something about it as they are not fit for purpose, but i think they will laugh at us. I'll let him get on with the complaining as he is good at it.

I don't want a 3rd thing to go wrong today. I'm tempted to go back to bed and hibernate.

I think my AF order will arrive today, although i haven't had an email from couriers yet so maybe tomorrow. I might see how dark it is today, but then have to take the boys out or play upstairs as we all end up with bad eyes if we sit in it as it is all day.

Why can't things just tick along nicely??

    Michelle, x
  • I would agree with your husband, at least go back to debenhams and see what they say. £300 is a lot to pay for lights which haven't lasted.
    Loving the dtd thread. x

So many posts i've not had chance to catch up yet. My gran gave me £20 yesterday for helping her, so treated me n OH to lunch out, got myself a puzzle book, and picked up a few bargains to put in freezer. Put the change into my sealed tin.
My de-cluttering is still on going. I started on the second wardrobe yesterday. Found loads of presents that i must of bought ages ago. Well thats this xmas sorted anyhoo:D. Feel loads better for sorting stuff out just wish i'd done is ages ago.

    Todays plan....
Got d/w on on, just need to dry and empty
    Go on wii fit
Put yesterdays ironing and washing away
Make my pack up for work later

Have a good day everyone, i'll try and catch up after work

Glendam - same here. I've never kept a spending diary, never looked closely at my finances before (Head In Sand Syndrome) and now after doing this for nearly two weeks I want to go out and spend money that I absolutely obviously haven't got. It's showing me how much I've been avoiding dealing with my financial situation and I'm really grateful for that.

    Morning everyone

Sunny but frosty again here, after a mild couple of days.

Planning a NSD today. Some of my DD's went out today so my remaining balance for the month has gone down a lot. Another one comes out tomorrow, and I'm also getting my hair cut and coloured tomorrow too which costs me a lot. It's far less expensive than where I used to go though. I'm going to look into trying a college salon. The college is 20 miles away and I have to admit to being very nervous about letting them loose on my hair.

Hope everyone has a good day .
  • Have just phoned sis to find out when she is travelling for work again as i am running out of my little hotel samples. I use them for showering at work as they are little bottles. I am on my last set so relieved when she said March. Just have to make these last about 6-8 wks now and i only shower at work once a week (more at home but have big bottles 4 that) - my work shower is literally 100% free lol!!!! Must try and get a couple more teaching hrs so i can save even more on hot water he he
