  • totals updated. Bought my daughter her b'day pressie (1st july lol) - bought her a dream town cottage for xmas and you get 3 vouchers towards their 'baking set' which is gorgeous. MIL bought her the nursery set so got 2 more so now got the 5 total and have sent it with the 3.99 postage fee and her pressie costs a total of 3.99 and retails for like 15-20!!!!!!!! oo i love this lol

Am off to the market tomorrow with mum as i have convinced her to dust off her knitting needles and knit my dd her first school cardi. She is only 2.5 so she has a year to do it as we have a sept and jan intake here but we are off to buy wool tomoz! And i have chosen the pattern. Already have some school dresses i bought in the woolies closing down sale, so tights and school shoes closer to end of the year and she is set for nursery!

I have also taken 10 out of the 240 miscellaneous other fund to send a letter recorded delivery and buy some bits at the market. Need to find someone who gets cheap tobacco from abroad otherwise i'm gonna be giving up in the next couple of weeks lol
DFW since JAN 2009 - 2014 will be the year i finally clear debts :) Just to see which month :))))

NSD today, made a turkey pie for dinner tonight, just needs to go in oven. My new sewing machine came today :j . I'm a bit apprehensive about using it but will watch the DVD that comes with it, go through stages of  ,,, :wall: and  before I use it.

If you ever want any help with your machine do PM me. I used to sell and service sewing machines! Most problems are simply overcome when you know what to do so dont be afraid of it-watch the dvd(you are lucky they do those now)and read the book-it will help.
Just got back back from the theatre for which I had bogof tickets and 50% off pizzahut! Well pleased! Its a small reward which makes me want to keep moneysaving and so rewarding us with nice treats!
Sliced and froze the rest of my nutloaves I cooked yesterday as I knew nobody would get to eat them tonight.
Just one thing got wasted in my fridge-the trifle I started doing and didnt finish. Just an 8p jelly with sponge in it-they were all waiting for me to put the custard on so didnt tough it and now its been there too long! I hate waste and its MY fault this time! 20p may not be the end of the world but with me it isnt the money-its the principal-my lack of planning.
Anyhow-apart from that Im very happy so I guess I now have to shut my eyes and dispose of it.
Cant resist those baking boys choc cakes from AF. Had 3 today-oh dear-not a day for dieting at all one way and another. I guess it starts tomorrow(whenever that is).
Got to get one car MOT in Feb and other full service ASAP so hopefully my non grocery budget will cover this-though I may be lagging behind on that as Im allowing £75 pw and I may end up spending more than than Ive accumulated by then-but if Im lucky I will get away with it so the less I spend this month the more I have for the cars in February.
Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults

Good evening all. Does anyone else have a terrible urge to spend obscene amounts of money right now or is it just me? I want, ooh, lots of really expensive stuff (none of which I really need) and have saved it all in my internet favourites. My virtual spend in the last 2 weeks is £2,500 and I shopped at Waitrose today (only £7 worth but still...)

I don't know whether virtual shopping is "healthy" or a dangerous sign. On the one hand putting stuff in my basket gives me something nice to save for and doesn't cost anything. On the other, I think it's compensating because I no longer have my high earning spendthrift lifestyle and is just making things worse in the long run. What's the group think on this?

PS zero based budgetting is going well so far.Still have £350 left to spend this month. For those who don't like traditional budgetting and record keeping/spreadsheets, it works very well. Shout if you want further info.

  • I do the virtual spend thing but usually on sale/cheap items then i get to checkout, realise i have to pay for delivery and think stuff it lol . Done with approved foods, boots and next this week lol. Did let order with body shop go through as it was free delivery yipeeeeeeeeeeee

angel - I may just do that! The last sewing machine I had my Mum gave me about 15 years ago, was really hard to use and is sitting at the back of the shed covered in those things with too many legs (don't say the word  ). I'm pleased there's a DVD as I can't really tell from a book **blondeness kicks in**. It'll probably sit in the box for about 2 weeks before I look at it
