  • Looking at Lavender Id like to make some wheatbags. My youngest dd burned hers in the micro the other night and as it is a "dog" whick looks nice(as opposed to an old bag)Id like to empty it out and refil it. What type of wheat do I need? I don't want to buy any when I can make them somewhat cheaper.
Tonight the micro has packed up but I dont think it has anythingg to do with the above-its been a little temperamental for a while now. So I need a new micro with dials as DH wont be able to use it otherwise! Hes a technophobe and I just love gadgets and anything tekky.

Nyk - Looks like you will have to do a monthly thread rather than a quarterly one! Maybe even weekly!

Phew! I am still on page 13!

    Well, so far I have

    Spent: £161.07

    Remaining: £3838.93

    Soon goes doesn't it!

NB: The picture frame will get taken back as it is too small , but I won't take that off the total until I get it back. Also, the 6th was only a NSD because I had a DD bounce  I won't need any more groceries for at least a fortnight (apart from milk), and I won't need petrol either.

Edit: I have tried sorting the table out 6 times and it does not want to work. Sorry!

  • This thread is soooo busy and I was naughty and kept logging on to read more at work! :o

CW18 - I bought a mushroom kit from B & Q for £4.98 just before Christmas, comes with the compost and I think you keep it in the box inside (if that makes sense) I must admit I havent looked at it too closely yet.

My mum was lovely today I asked her when she was next passing Mr M's could she get me the baked beans on offer so she bought me 3 lots and dropped them off at work for me. Lovely mum :D

Must update spending diary and then get some sleep (I also gave Thriftylass the date my frugalteeny's meant to arrive)

Bails - I know of a knitting forum where they have a whole section on felting and they may be able to give you advice on felting the lambswool. I'm not sure whether I can post the address here if I can let me know if not PM me and I'll send you the address.

Tried one of those a few years back -- and got precisely no mushrooms from it :o

Thought I'd try a different method, and if it still didn't work then I'd admit I can't grow mushrooms ;)

cw - old t - shirts cut up or even old sweaters make great hanging basket liners;)

If you go for the muck make sure they use straw, or if they use shavings that it is rotted properly, my mum used some last year and ended up with strange fungi sprouting over the area she had spread it - was a fungus from the shavings:confused:

My market mission this weekend is going to be looking for bargain mushrooms for freezing.;)
This sounds like a really good idea sophiesmum I will try it with my hanging baskets.
    Thankyou
