AAAAAGGGGHHHH. Just written a long post and forgot I had logged out last night so lost the lot when I tried to post.

Good morning, frugalers. Seem to be getting of to a good start here today, DS has gone to college for the morning, he didn't have to go in today but has gone to do revision for his exam tomorrow, packed him of with sandwiches.
I have got through to the benefits people this morning, but they are having to call me back beacuse, they aren't sure why my CT was stoped for 6 weeks.
I have had two NSD but I need to get some bits:rolleyes: from MrT's, I Must make a list and stick to it, and also get some cash from the hole in the wall, i'm looking forward to getting out and having a walk.
Quick question, I want to make some raisin bread in the BM, but I only have currants will they be o.k? I also want to do cheese & onion bread, so need to get dried onion, but haven't been able to find it at MrT's lately
Big big hugs for everyone that needs one.

Morning
I was hoping for a NSD but I've decided I need to go and do a little food shopping. I still haven't found the best way to manage grocery shopping. A big shop once a month doesn't really work for me, but I don't want to fall into the trap of going every few days.
My stomach's churning anxiously as I sit here - my fridge/freezer is making a really weird noise this morning, never heard it do this noise before. it's built in and I can only imagine the hassle I'd have trying to get a replacement fast....Fingers crossed it's ok.
So I have to drive to the shops, hitting Lidl which is about 10 miles away, and my local farm shop on the way back. I think I've got an almost full tank of petrol and don't plan to hardly use my car at all this month. My upper spend limit for today is £30. Hope I can manage it.
Hugs to everyone who's recovering from or still suffering from flu and other bugs and special hugs to anyone who's feeling a bit down.0 -

Glad you're feeling better today Kittikins, hope you are too Janey.
Sprouts are definitely best for you raw- it's good to try and include as much fresh, raw food in your diet as possible; sprouts are known as 'living' food and are great for you! Taste yummy too IMO. Use them as another salad ingredient basically so anytime you might use lettuce sprinkle the sprouts on top. Jar method works well too so no need to buy sprouter.
As for the jumper, it still looked the same size just a little short ? but I think that was down to the sizing rather than it already being shrunk. Might try the hand boiling and tumble dryer options - the website said it could shrink as much as 70% so something should've happened! I wondered if the label was fake ie it's not really wool but it's an M&S jumperI'm not giving up just yet though so keep those frugal Christmas pressies in mind BB
Vixstar I'd love the link to the website please and you can post it here on the forum. Thanks!
Right, off to docs again - they must think I'm a hypo, been more times in the past month since I joined new surgery than I have been in years! 8 days of 'women's prob' and I can't take any more thoughThen I have yet another lesson this afternoon, as the mum is panicking about the exams next Friday. I'm not complaining though, the extra money I'm allowed to earn is very welcome indeed :T
Oh, and I finally got hold of TV licensing, I was hoping I could stop my DD now as you pay 6 months upfront but we have to keep paying til 2 weeks before we leave then cancel it and get a refund; why do they get the use of my money? What do you think would happen if I cancelled the DD now anyway? Surely I'm covered?

savingfortravel yesterday i did an assignment for a burger chain. I go to order a meal deal and have to time how long it takes to order, pay and receive my food. I also have to check if the staff are smiling/offering extra items and the restaurant is clean inside and out inc toilets. Then I fill in a report online with comments and upload my receipt. They refund the food money and give you a fee on top. It's easy, you pick your own work, and get free food -although it's never healthy stuff! There's also shops where you buy something or check stock of certain items/ask questions.
It's going to pay for my car and house insurance, car tax, and all my presents this year. It can even be done around a full time job although you would be more limited in how many assignments you could do but there are evening and weekend ones.
Lemurs are lovely - I went to see them in Stockholm zoo and you walk around the enclosure and can stroke them - very fluffy - and they were all huddled up together on a platform sleeping. How do you put pics up on here?"I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better." Paul Theroux0 -
Just popping on quickly as I've work to catch up with.
Igiveup - I hope you manage on your £84 per month, how many has that to feed and are you on the grocery challenge thread or have you read Weezl's 50p per day thread? I budget food at an average £1 per person per day over the year and I think we eat quite well for that. The only thing I thought looked a bit high was your gas/elecricity if everyone is out all day, every day, then it might be that something is being left on or too high when it doesn't need to be. If you look at post 1 of this thread, there's a link to i-measure and other power saving threads. I'm an avid meter reader, so I always know from day to day what it costs me. You could try reading your meters every day for a full week, just to see what changes there are when everyone's home compared to everyone being out at work/college.
Will catch up with everyone soon. I have to agree about how fast this thread is growing and how difficult it is to keep up, so I'll start a new one for February so the forum police don't start patrolling our patch and enforcing the long arm of the forum laws. In the meantime, try to avoid chatty one liners and make the most of private messaging if you need to ask a question that may already have been answered or a topic that may already have been discussed 1,976,327 posts back. :rotfl: It's only day 8 and we have another 23 days of posts to fit into this thread, so post frugally, even if it means one huge long post to cover everything. I promise not to quote/respond to individual posts, I WILL take notes, I WILL train my brain to remember. Now, what was I [strike]waffling on about[/strike] saying? :rotfl:
 87 pages by Day 8 :eek:I reserve the right not to spend.

And to addition to what Nyk said if you quote can you delete the unrelevant part of the quoted post as that would help as well.
And now that I am here might as well confess that I will go to the shop today and I will spend money that I haven't earned yet but it is a necessity and I will stick to my very short list. But on the positive note I got a tangled spreadsheet to sort out so that is income for me.
Busy, busy so will be reading but probably not posting until tomorrow.
Happy frugalising everyone,
