Bails - I know of a knitting forum where they have a whole section on felting and they may be able to give you advice on felting the lambswool. I'm not sure whether I can post the address here if I can let me know if not PM me and I'll send you the address.

I wonder if ironing it might help-on hot with a cloth or something?

I need some definition here. Where is the outside tap? Is it at the allotment or the house? If its at the lotty then you walked back home in your undies???

The tap is on the outside of the house. The allotment is through a gate at the end of the garden.

Don't know if I can do this but need try to get by on @ £80 month for groceries, cleaning stuff / toiletries etc for self and 20 yr old son, plus things like gifts and any items. Need encouragement of like minded people !

    Cheers in advance !

    Good morning,

Drunkard DH in bed, so thought I'd catch up here. I've been looking at the sprouting seeds you are all talking about. How do you actually cook/eat them, are they for stir fries?

I've never heard of them before I saw them on the thread, so would be interested to know how everyone uses them. I have been getting into making my own sweets and cakes. I'm not that sweet toothed but like fruit loaves and treacle scones. My specialty is tablet, I don't like shop bought stuff but mine is really good. I get requests on a regular basis from family and friends to make it.

I made a fruit loaf for the first time on Sunday, that was really nice. I am going to try a ginger cake and carrot cake next as I like both of these. Will need to watch the waistline though!!!

Going to bed now, nite nite xx

Morning everyone, I'm feeling chirpy today, even though my financial woes have increased, yawn! Nursery fees are going up next month but unfortunately not enough per week to increase my tax credits, so instead of being £150/month down due to ex, I'll now be £185 down. You've got to laugh haven't you.....am wondering if I'd be better off not working at this rate!

On the good side - am working in London today so will eventually get £16 mileage for driving up to Gatwick to get the train, can't rely on local trains t get to Victoria, and I get to see my lovely team up there and will treat myself to an M&S salad using my christmas present tokens. So today might be a NSD as I can put the cost of the newspaper on my token (which I'm not counting as money).

I wish I could just comb through conditioner....combing her hair normally takes an hour an a half...and she's very resistant. Combing it with a nit comb...let's just say you need a good DVD and cuddles on the sofa :) I agree, it's the parents who don't do anything that annoy me too, and the fact the nursery aren't allowed to check the hair and tell a parent that their child has them, due to human rights laws!! However, I and a friend have told the nursery that they have our permission to check, and we strongly urge them to, as until recently, I didn't know what the little blighters looked like and I'd rather know asap than wait until she's completely infested and they're having tea parties!

Janey - hope your head isn't too sore after the wine and that you managed to sleep and have sweet dreams of your OH. Hugs

Sophiesmum - thanks for telling us that you can use normal chickpeas and beans - the money I've wasted over the years buying special packs for my sprouter, grrr. You've inspired me, I have a batch growing in a cupboard now, deeelish! Sure DD will turn up her nose at them like everything else at the moment, lol.

You can et them raw, add to slads, sandwiches etc. Use in a stir fry or sprinkle onto soups just before serving, add to omelettes etc . From what I hve read nutritionally the best benefits are by eating raw though.:D
