Good afternoon, frugalers. so far today has been another NSD for me:j. I spent an hour this moring looking at the finished hampers thread and it has inspired me to do something with the 3 hamper baskets that I have, i'm going to make one up for DD and put make-up, smellys and beauty products in for either her b/day or christmas, the other one I'm going to do for DS (17) not sure what i will fill his with and yet to make my mind up who is going to get the other. not got to much done round here today, most of it seems to have been spent waiting in call queue
save a holic- I have taken your advice and have just called my HA, the woman on the phone tried telling that its not a problem and to open the windows everyday for half an hour, so I told her that it could be a health risk and she soon changed her tune and said that she would get the surveyor out to take a look at it.
to do list
washing-up- done
washing- done
phone HA- done
clean bathroom
sort ebay stuff
make meal plan and shopping list for next week
start essay, going to do the plan for it now:whistle:
phone concil tax- done but was a wasted call, told i had to call benefits about it after waiting in a queue for 30 min:mad:Back on MSE again! to take control of my finances and not let it control me. :T May grocery challenge £41.96/1400 -

guess who else owns a Fiat -- it's in fact my 4th since 1988 (Uno, Tempra hatchback, Tempra estate, and now Punto hatchback). And it doesn't look like I can easily change to another make (or even model now), as it was a change of car (and pedal alignment) that they think knocked my back big time in July 2006
(the Fiat I had then died for the last time, so I was driving DH's Peugeot intstead)Cheryl0 -
I've had another NSD day today, as have stayed in sorting through the clutter:o
DD's coming for tea and i've made potato and carrot cheesy mash, it's her fave comfort food:p
Think i'm within target up to now this week, aren't I good:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: [STRIKE]it wont last[/STRIKE];)
Am liking the look of the spicy carrot soup, might try it tomoz"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I'm heating a 4 bed detached -- thermostat set to just under 17 degrees, and running from 6:30am until 9pm. Last week cost me a whopping £16 of gas (this was a huge increase for me), which was 43 units on my 'cubic metre' meter converted to 495kWh.Cheryl0 -

Still looking for a way to reuse the net bags that sprouts and carrots were in - may use to keep birds off my fruit bushes, or save to store potatoes in later in year, or may stuff with (nitbone)comfret leaves and soak in water to make a fertiliser liquid - have a huge batch of comfret in grounds.
Better make tracks downstairs:rolleyes: catch up with you all later:D[/quote]
I've saved all my net bags this year and they've been really useful for storing onions, the garlic that I'm going to replant etc. My friend uses them for her walnuts, she has 3 quite large walnut trees and gets through quite a few bags which she sells to raise funds for here cat sterilisation programme. I also read somewhere about stuffing a small net bag with others and making a pan scrubber. I've now trained myself to cut the bags open carefully across the tops rather than just tear into them.:DAiming for a Champagne Lifestyle on a Lemonade Budget

Hello all
Nope, Nyk -nothing anyone has said or done-Its just that the thread is busy enough with everyone trying to keep track of all their out goings -Im only Keeping control of the housekeeping -so figured If I dropped out it would be one less person "cluttering up" the thread
and might make it easier for everyone else to keep up..... hope that makes sense
Im still sticking to the same budget that I set myself -Im just doing it on my ownesome :rotfl: ..... Probably won't have time to post much once spring arrives anyway as I will be out in my Potio appotment -once the 6" of snow and -15 weather has gone
hope everyone is doing ok .... I will no doubt stick my nose in from time to time-

Afternoon all,
I've had a lazyish day, picked up sister at 9am and took her to my oldest brother's house to look after the wee fella, my sil is not well just now. I dressed the wee one and gave him his breakfast and then left them to it. Then went to town and delivered/swapped my repairs round and then came home. Made something to eat, went to my mum's and am going out with DH tonight. He is taking me out for dinner, his treat, so no spend from me:D .
I spent around £3 today, a pound for the car park (this is work related, so does not count in the challenge), and spent £2 in morrisons, I bought some cough sweets for sil, a bag for myself, just in case and also a loaf.
I'm off tomorrow, but DH forgot and has arranged to go to lunch with a guy he works with, he is based in Glasgow, and is in charge of dishing out postings. He just missed out on one to Brunei (that would have been nice), but he will get one either in France or Norfolk instead. No point in being angry, he's got to do it for work I suppose.
I told him off about leaving the heating on when he came back last night, he looked like this:o . I must be getting frugally scary as the days go on methinks:cool: . xxx0
