the amount they said they were going to accept was the amount set out in my DMP not an amount that they'd come up with, it's about 1/2 what we were paying.0 -

hmm that might be the difference then.. My payment to them worked out about about £3 per month I think.. :rotfl::o
Maybe they are are asking me for the extra info to see if that's all I can pay. I did read that they ask for those things so that THEY can set what you will pay. (well , they can try to.. rather)
I'm hoping to get rid of that debt soonish anyway. It's one of my smaller ones.. so I'm hoping its one of the first ones I can pay off. (I hope!) :rolleyes:Very proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09

I've just had a nasty letter from Natwest saying I have to repay my arrears on my loan and OD accounts by the 18th June or they are taking me to courtI'm always in the brown stuff (marmite)....only the depth varies!!! :rotfl:0

Taa dah! :j Remember me? :rotfl:
Would loved to have come on here saying I won a few hundred thousand on the lottery but been busy with family issues and work. Boring I know, but that's life!Wanted to say a really big hello to all the newbies and Eupho! wow, you are a really great help on here, so supportive. Keep up the good work!
Had some great news this week, Halifax loan gave back £5429.61 in ppi :T:T:T:T:T:T:T
I looked back at old CCCS statements and saw that our total debt in November 2008 was £52,517.84 :eek::eek::eek::eek: Our debt today minus CCCS payments and ppi reclaims stands at £43,100.70not great but a hell of alot better than the amount above eh? Our new debt free date is now June 2021
was Dec 2023. We still have ppi reclaims pending with the FOS so hopefully it will reduce even more.
Setting up a DMP was the best thing we ever did. It was damn right scary at first worrying over this and that but now I can honestly say we don't eat sleep and sh*t debt anymore, we don't argue over money (or lack of it) like we used to. We always have a bit of money left over at the end of the month and now most of the creditors have stopped interest and charges, we can really see our debt slowly decrease for once in our lives.
I don't miss having credit now, not one bit. I had a catalogue delivered from Littlewoods (don't know why they bothered as if I could order anyway!!) but I browsed through and looked at the clothes and couldn't believe I used to order tons of the stuff with the high prices they were asking!
We also seem to have more of a life now than what we ever did when we had credit. That might sound daft but now we enjoy the simple pleasures in life like going for a picnic at the local park when the weather was lovely. OH no longers spends stupid amounts on betting on credit cards and I don't order hundreds of pounds of stuff from catalogues. We have definitely learnt our lesson and quite easily adapted to life without credit.
We also enjoy going to work now, yep I know what I said :D but when we get paid we have money spare, we are no longer working to live hand to mouth. The creditors seem to have disappeared, we don't have hardly any post not even statements now which is a bit rude don't ya think? especially after me sending a load of £1 CCA requests too
Anyway just wanted to waffle on how I am getting on and hope it inspires some of you lot to start reclaiming your own ppi and charges back. It's so worth it when you see you have won and a small amount taken off the debt total!
Take care

It soooo encouraging to read when people post how well they are getting on their DMPs ... and getting themselves out of their mess.. BRILLIANT! :T:T
It gives me hope haha!
I can already see.. (even though I am still at the start).. what a MASSIVE weight has been lifted from me! (unfortunately, not my @rse ) haha.. .. Just in the last month... each day has got better and better.
I just have a huuuge sense of relief at actually doing something positive about my debts.
and I love this thread.. heaps of support and encouragement. Well, all over the boards really.. but here.. where people are in the same boat. :T:TVery proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09

Hi Eupho
Loads of ppi? hmm yeah  it was from OH last loan, one of those that you get that you promise will definitely be the LAST ONE, you know the loan you agree to get to finally clear the cards so you can just have one payment instead of 23 a month? Only you never quite manage to clear the other debt and carry on spending?yeah, yeah been there done that I hear you all say :rotfl:
I only found out about ppi since I came on this forum. We were in trouble for a while but it really hit the fan last year when we just couldn't keep juggling the repayments anymore. I found this site and the ppi section and started reading up about ppi. Spending many a late night on here (remember them guys? :rotfl:)
OH is self employed and well, the light bulb went on and letters went out to all creditors who ever sold us ppi. Halifax have been the best and paid up straight away after 2 letters. Only MBNA, Barclaycard, Lloyds, Monument, HFC, GUS and Capital One were awkward and all have been sent to the FOS, reading others success has given me hope and spurred me on.
I liked what you wrote for newbies on here about reading, reading, reading through the forum. Knowledge is power as they say and it definitely gives you a boost when you know what a creditor can and can't do. When you read the letters, you do get scared and think they are coming for your first born but re-read them and you will see a lot of 'if's', 'may', 'might' before the threatening wordsDMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0 -

Ohh yessss.. that one.
It's great that this website exists! All the info here.. and all the clever helpful people on the forums! I know I wouldn't have a CLUE about any of this stuff had I not read it here.. and even then.. I would never have dreeeeeamed of challenging a company. But watching the people around you do it.. (and usually succeeding) is soooo encouraging isn't it. :T:beer:Very proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09

20 days after I sent my letters/offers/token/payments..
HSBC Credit card.. and Loan.. have both now cashed my token payment. (today)
That makes 10 of My creditors that have cashed them now.
of the other 2.. RBOS still haven't cashed it.. But did send me a 'nice' letter informing me they were were sending me a default notice. (and they did.. same post! haha).. But it wasn't mean, it was all quite polite and 'kind' (if it could be) not scary anyway.
Then there is Hitatchi Capital (DFS Sofa) ..:rolleyes: who have refused my offer twice.. (been quite nasty and threatening) .. and still havent cashed my token payment.
Edited to add:
Oo... and I see I had a missed call from Egg Card Collections. (thats the first time they've contacted me, since sending them my letter 20 days ago)Very proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09
