I was just thinking.. I flung all my stuff in the same envelope.. Letter, offer.. (SOA) and token payment.
Must have worked okay.. as most of them have cashed them at least.

I've been on my dmp two years (hence my number on this thread is 32 ;)) - I've been told I need to notify creditors as to why this month's payment will be reduced.

It's just if I ring I need to do it where no-one can hear (open plan office) and I still can't actually say the words my dad died without crying :(

Aaawww poor girlie.. honestly.. make something quick up. I forgot what it was now.. But wasnt it Sas who suggested something else?.. .. Do that instead.

They don't give a monkeys what the reason is.. only that you owe them money.

Really.. just make up something quick.

I tell you what.. I laid my cards on the table with them.. (all 13 of them!) and told them it ALL..

NONE of them gave a toss.. really.

All they see is that you cant pay.. and now it has to happen another way.

I wouldn't waste your breathe on your real reason sweetie. .. :: big hugs :: :undecided

Infact.. you dont even have to give them a reason at all.. (they are not seeing you as dear sweet Newlywed.. They are just seeing account number that owe us moola)

Just say.. you circs have changed.. and you can no longer keep up the repayments at they are.

You are starting a DMP .. and hoping that they will help you by freezing interest and charges to help enable you to pay back what you owe.

    Yours faithfully.

Something like that.. honestly.. thats fine. Dont waste your breathe. :)

Yeah you're right - they don't really give a stuff do they? I've just got to make sure they know that this is a one off reduced payment and that things should go back as they were afterwards - that way they shouldn't take any action coz I've told them.
