I've been on my dmp two years (hence my number on this thread is 32
) - I've been told I need to notify creditors as to why this month's payment will be reduced.
It's just if I ring I need to do it where no-one can hear (open plan office) and I still can't actually say the words my dad died without crying0 -
Newlywed if they had an ounce of human in them they will understand why you have reduced your payment this month, be brave I know its still fresh and you dont want to say the D word, but do it then you can concentrate on grieving. Good luck xx
yep! :grouphug: :: big hug ::

Hey Eupho, hope you are well, have you heard anything from HSBC yet? I havent as yet nor have they cashed my cheque's but I have had no calls for several days now. its bliss :T
Nooo not a sausage.. AND.. they are one of the few not to have cashed my cheques either. :wall:
I cant wait to get some info to say my new Co-Op Cash minder account is open.. (thats the one Im going to use for my DMP payments)..
That way I can set up the Standing Orders.. and they will get the payments whether they accept them or not..(HA!)

Hello all,
I was just wondering if anyone could help.
To pay my token payments each month i transfer the money from my bank account to the creditor but i dont seem to have a account number to transfer into CL finance, does anyone know where/how i can find out? Prferably with out having to ring them
I find being able to transfer the payment is easier than trying to rmember to write a cheque“most people give up just as they are about to achieve success”If you think you are going through hell keep going - Sir Winston ChurchillIf You Can't Change It, Change the Way You Think About It.SW, 13st5lb, -4 1/2, -1,(12st13.5lbs)0 -
afternoon all!!
lots of lovely chat here today!
newlywed - i agree with everyone - unfortunatley you have the worst reason to tell them your creditors - i have cried down the phone blaming 5 yrs of fertility treatment for our debt but i know thats only a prt of it.
they do not give a toss - but i'm sticking with Eupho - its not personal -as soon as they put the phone down to you - up comes another customer for them to ring & so on & on & on & on........................
had some good news form cccs today - was considering doing our own dmp as didn't think cccs would let me take off my hsbc debt as its now on a managed loan - but they will!!! so am gonna def go with them as i can set up one d/d to them & thats that. (apart form the calls / letters etc)
but i must admit - so far so good on that front - as soon as i say cccs are dealing on my behalf & give them the number they seem to ccept that & have had no hassle so far.
but then again - hubby has a N/Rock loan - they should receive our 'token' payment this week - i bet the phone will not stop ringing!!!!!!!! :rotfl:
Oh & Hi Jay!!! we are all lovely on here - even if i say so myself.
sasMassive !! LBM June 09 - Debts [STRIKE]£70k [/STRIKE] now £63k (PPI Claim succesfull)
will never ever ever get credit again (couldn't if i wanted!!!! - LOL - have to laugh, keeps me sane.

Hey Crafty
Was that your first letter from them? .. Or ha they already written to you asking you to send bank statement.. Wage slip.. and proof of benefits?
(thats what they asked me for.. and some other peeps too)..
(For anyone else reading.. You dont have to send those by the way)
Crafty.. They wrote asking me for those.. and offered me two plans.. 6mths short term plan.. of no interest extra.. 5 smaller payments.. and one big final. But not default on credit file.. OR.. Longer payments (still interest frozen) .. reviewed 12mthly.. BUT default on credit file.
I havent taken either offer yet.. I have just sent them a CCA request tho.
Basically it says - in recognition of the financial difficulty you are currently experiencing, i confirm that we are prepared to set a minimum monthly payment level on your account of xxx (amount set my dmp) the interest rate as been reduced to 0% and late and over limit fees have been suppressed.
Then goes onto mention that it will be reviewed periodically etc, etc.
oh and yes this was my first letter from them0 -
Thanks Saskia I will be asking them to downgrade as I wont be using the account again, its a shame as I really like my HSBC account, but I am starting to get used to my Abbey account.
Hi Leese
I felt exactly the same. I had been with HSBC for years and was really happy with my account, the service I received, their internet banking etc so really didn't want to move to a basic account elsewhere. But I did, to stop them offsetting. Since my DMP, they have been soooo awful with constant phone calls that I no longer feel sentimental about HSBC!
It's funny because they were soooo helpful beforehand. If ever I rang them or went into branch they were brilliant - efficient and polite. The minute I got into financial do-dos they stopped all that - my loyalty counted for nothing!

That's actually quite common right now, if you make clear the debt is unpayable the creditors will normally send you information like that, about freezing the rates and getting it all repaid by a certain time... I'd say go for it if you can afford it!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
