Hi all,
Hope you all had a nice long weekend!! Life seems quite busy for me at the mo! Was away on my hockey weekend this weekend and I'd saved bonus money for it (it's always an expensive one, more drinking than hockey!) and i managed to stay in the budget! Pretty pleased with myself! Altho i am quite scared that that small buffer is now gone (There's still a little bit left but really is a little bit)!
On another note bl00ming Natwest are still messing with my head!! I was stupid enough to think for some reason they had given ME money as money appeared in my account! But no, infact that was two people (friend and my mum) putting money they owe me into the wrong account! Argh! and because it is over the od limit i now can't get at that money!!
Anyway, in checking this out today (my friend asked if i'd received the money and when i hadn't i checked old account just in case, and found mum's payment there too) I found that this month Natwest in their infinite wisdom and incompetance have charged not one but TWO interest and over od charges!! can't believe it!
I phoned to enquire about this! The reason???? they have changed the date they take the charges so the first is for the old dates and the second to make up to the new dates!
Why?? What IS the point? I can't even work it out and I'm now wondering if they're just conning me out of more than i 'owe' them.
i thought seeing as i was on the phone to ask about cancelling the charges coz it isn't doing either of us any good. i explained my situation and she said she couldn't do anything but i could write and try and persuade them i'm in hardship (or whatever the term is) so i am now definitely going to do this sooner rather than later!
Can i just ask what does this hardship mean? she said it means you don't have enough to pay etc? Does being on a DMP constitute this by itself? or is it more complicated than that?
Has anyone had experience of it whilst the hardship rule is there and got it?
I'm really nervous I won't come into the catorgory!!

Hello everyone. I have just started a DMP with Payplan, who I have to say have been very helpful so far. I made first payment on 1st May, and am waiting for creditors to get back at the moment. Making this decision has been such a relief and I feel loads better. I have had my first call from a creditor today, Egg, and I am in shock as they were so pleasant and understanding!!! They are going to contact Payplan and will take it from there. Watch this space... Anyway, it makes me feel more confident about dealing with other creditors,
This thread is so useful and the information I have gained makes me feel more equipped to deal with any problems which might come my way.

Hi all, long time no post. Hope everyone is well.
Have a quick one for you. Gf has got a letter from Triton claiming that they are attempting to collect her Natwest debt (£9100). It has all the DCA spiel about having possessions taken and the like. When she phoned Natwest they said that they were not agreeing with the CCCS plan we were on and had written to them in March telling them this. They are asking for £100 a month more than was offered. We have heard nothing from the CCCS about this, should we be concerned or is it all bluster?

Hi all, me again!
As usual have done a search and come up with lots of different answers so am hoping someone can clear this up for me
I am starting my DMP with Payplan at the end of this month and having been making my token payments for the last 2 months, after the most recent payment my covering letter included my reference number with Payplan and the constant phone calls seem to have died off a bit, apart of course from Lloyds who despite me requesting they dont call me are continuing to do so, they have slowed down somewhat this week but are still ringing my work phone which is kind of embarrassing i have to sit with different people for most of the day to do work for them, anyway, i had my first default through the post from egg this week and i just wanted to check exactly what i need, or dont need to do about it, its for my credit card i have with them, basically says i need to pay the arrears on the account by the end of the month or they will take action, i kow Payplan do not need to know about all the default letters and just want to know if its passed to a DCA, so do i need to do anything regarding this letter?
I know Payplan are either in the process of contacting my creditors or will be very shortly.
Sorry i know this question comes up every 5 minutes!!

don't worry about the defaults as its a step they need to go through in order to freeze charges etc, you don't need to tell paypal, cccs about the defaults but if they pass you onto a debt collection agency you need to tell the cccs/paypal so they can transfer the funds over to them instead and if needed contact them with an offer. The earlier a default is issued the better as the quicker it falls off your credit report!!!
Don't worry about the debt collection agencies either sometimes they are easier to deal with!!!
On a lighter note, Ge capital just phoned at 20.30 there and i told them i was in my bed and to phone back at a more reasonable hour haha!!:rotfl:proud to be facing debts of 16000k
