Thanks, i understand what you mean now, I'm sure when I phone them next week they will go through it all with me anyway, i was hoping to only pay token payments and not have to pay CCCS for one month and put that money away.
    thanks for your help!

I just contacted the Ombudsman over the reinstated DD's from MBNA to my Natwest account, and neither creditors taking responsibility for the reinstatements and blaming each other. He said it looks like its MBNA's fault and is going to write to them about it.
Don't know if this is gonna open a can of worms with MBNA, but I'm sick of drowning in unpaid fees from Natwest!!
I'm always in the brown stuff (marmite)....only the depth varies!!! :rotfl:

    Hey AHT
I don't know any rules as such but I have removed all phone numbers from internet banking for all of my creditors - (they just have my home number and I'm never there, so they can call all they like! :rotfl:).

This has worked for all of them, but I was extremely annoyed when CitiBank called me at work - I can only presume they got my work number from my original online application. I told them very firmly that I was not prepared or allowed to take personal calls at work and that it was extremely inappropriate for them to ask me to discuss my financial details at work. They apologised immediately and I haven't heard from them since, so might be worth a try...?
    Best wishes

  • Hi All

I am new to these forums I am due to start a DMP next month with the help of CCCS.
My wife and I have racked up 8k worth of credit card debts over the years but after my wife lost her job and then fell pregnant we have fallen on harder financial times (We have a large mortgage and my salary just covers our living expenses).
However the numerous sucess stories on here are very inspiring and have certainly left me feeling much more optimistic that we will come through this.
Anyway just popped in to say hello and wish anyone in a similar situation to mine the very best of luck.

thanks devon girl, i removed all my numbers form the internet banking, and also on all my DMP letters asked not to be contacted by phone but only in writing.

I was annoyed they had phoned me at work, but now i come to think of it i know i removed all my phone numbers and contact details on the internet banking site, so this has now really peeved me.

*sigh* another call from the Halifax - in fact, 2 so far today. One was on my mobile, at 9.05am, but I was sleepy and confused about where my phone was so missed the call. Then got one just now, so about 10.30. Girl said where she was calling from and that the calls were going to stop. So I said that was utterly pointless then, you've phoned me to say the calls are going to stop?! She said they would. I asked if they were actually, actually going to stop and she said they'd be stopped for 10 days, automated system, blah-di-blah. Funny that, cos the fella yesterday said the calls would be stopped for 10 days but I still got a 2nd call yesterday and 2 calls today. In reply to that, she said she was putting them on hold, but that I was scheduled for one at around 2pm, so would probably get that one. When I said "why am I getting these calls?", she hung up.

Oh deep joy. So I'm going to get hounded.

This is awful!! What an incompetant bunch! can't believe they keep ringing you to tell you the calls are going to stop!! !!!!!!!

I got a few calls from them when i started but nothing like this! Wonder if they are due to me soon!!!

You need to get that letter written!! ;)

Hi i was pregnant but unfortunately suffered a miscarriage this week, even during this terrible time i have had phonecalls day and night, i feel like getting them done for harrassment.
Anyway we plan to get pregnant as soon as possible again and i will pay as much as possible foe the remainder of my working months then drop down when im on Maternity leave, that is the beauty of the DMP.

Most of my creditors are on board but GE capital just keep on phoning, i have a GE capital account for £150 but because i can pay them £5 a month they say its enough to cover my min payment and refuse to feeze interest and keep phoning wanting extra money!!! Any advice on this? should i offer them less?
vertbaudet and EGG have passed me on to debt collection agencies which suits me as they are easier to deal with.

So sorry SL, hope you are ok!!!

    thanks for your help!

you can delay for another month if you wish, i delayed till may from february because i had my car tax in april, i explained it to the cccs and it was no problem, i was able to save the money i would have payed for 2 months, meanwhile each month i made £1 token payments to each creditor, just email the cccs and explain.

You can get them to take the work number off, just say you work in a job where personal calls aren't allowed. GE capital phoned my work on my day off once, I am a nurse and was mortified they phoned a hospital ward looking for me lol!!!! i just told my boss there was fraud on my account haha x
