Hi All,
Hope you're all OK
Update on the DMP and creditor situation from me
Had mortgage and utility payments to catch up on so I delayed it and due to start on 1st May
Student Loan Co - just had a letter telling me they need me to set up the direct debit that was cancelled. No calls as far as I know
HSBC CC - they've charged me interest for this month and wanted me to fill in their budget form. I didn't do this and basically sent my original DMP notification and another letter to them (along with the blank unanswered budget form) asking them to contact CCCS and the reference number. They seem willing to accept less but nothing definite as yet.
A & L CC with MBNA - said they will accept £20 per month minimum but don't know whether this is what I've got on my DMP (I think it is!!) and interest has been reduced to 7.5% So getting somewhere
A & L Overdraft - with their debt collection dept to review but originally said they would accept reduced payment. Again nothing definite and they also tried to get me to offer an amount separate from the DMP. Looking promising for acceptance
A & L Personal Loan - same as the student loan as have heard nothing accept requesting I set up another direct debit
The one's I've heard from all threaten going to credit reference agencies unless I pay the full amount - I presume its standard letters and disregard this. I'll be getting defaults soon and really won't be able to get credit - quite scary but also a bit exciting
Quick mention to the people I owe my ground rent to - I'd forgotten about it and they'd been sending the bills to my previous address. So got a bill of £150 last month with no hoping of paying this off in one without leaving myself flat broke and basically without food. Thankfully they've agreed I can pay £30 over 5 months. Phew!!

Jaybag..you can deley the start of a dmp with the none fee paying companys to, so you have time to put an emergency fund away, you would just send them a token payment anything as low as £1 whilst you wait for the dmp to start.
With the fee paying firm i was with they worked out what my monthy payment would be and took this first payment as an admin fee, no money got sent to my crediotrs for over 9 weeks from me signing up but i had paid out to them.
With payplan//cccs it would still be the same lenght of time for crediotrs to reseave the money if you deley the start of the plan but you will not have paid any extra out and can use that towards the baby items and emergency fund.

Since I last posted I have had to take a wage reduction due to business being slow(beats being made redundent),I have decided that I will be going with payplan and not the fee charging one as when I got ur reply I had a niggling feeling that I shouldnt be paying for the service. So I would like to say thank you for making me think about it and doing the right thing
Have got another telephone appointment on friday evening so hopefully things should be set up in the same time frame as the one I was gonna go with and hopefully keeping the payments to a minimum for a while
Will keep you posted
Again,thank you :T0 -
So, as much as I don't want to count my chickens it would appear that Natwest have actually finally stopped charging me! It's the end of the month and I would assume it would have shown up today and there's nothing! So fingers crossed they've finally realised it won't help get their money back!
Also got a letter from the last cc to accept saying they accept! And have had no phone calls for a while now!!
Fingers crossed that's that and it should all settle down now!
My parents were almost too good with money!! I got far too used to getting pretty much anything I wanted! And therefore knew nothing of struggling or budgeting!
Question: is there a way of finding out how much road tax will be? Ours is up this month so I need to plan for it? Ta!
Hi - i dont want to rain on your parade but if it interest overdraft charges they sometimes go on overnight on the last working day - i thought last month that mine had stopped but when i logged on the next working day - there they were! Hopefully this wont be the case for you.
Road tax can be found on the direct.gov website - i generally just google road tax costs.
Hope this helps xxDMP Support Member 254. LBM 20/1/2009DMP though CCCS starting 01.04.2009Debt Free date March 2015 but would love to be there for OH's 40th in 2014.0 -

Hi everyone
I have a query, this is our 2nd month on the DMP. We sent £1 token payments in February and the 1st DMP payments in March, shortly coming up to our 2nd.
However, there are 3 creditors we havent heard anything from.
Nationwide CC
Tesco CC
Abbey CC
I spoke to CCCS today who said chances are they have accepted the DMP but are not bothering to write to us or CCCS.
Has anyone else had anything like this happen to them?0 -
Hi Bex
