    Biggles,

Boo80 is correct, if you haven't paid them they can take what is in your current account. Lloyds threated me with this and they did actually point it out in their T's and C's - Didn't actually get them very far with me as I had an overdraft and they can't put you into higher debt on one account by using another.

Sorry, but I think that money is gone.

    Thanks guys :(
Yep, the money is gone :(
I spoke to CCCS and she confirmed - a lesson learned and all that. Just soooo cross.
I even thought, as my payments are now up to date on my credit card I would take the cash back out on the card..... but the beggars have blocked it! Oh well, worth a try :rotfl:

We'll be ok, but it does mean our emergency fund is going to be lower than I'd hoped which makes me feel uncomfortable.

One good thing though, lady at CCCS confirmed yesterday that they have received my paperwork so it's all systems go now! First payment on 1st May.
Proud to be dealing with our debts!:j

Thought it was too good to be true....looks like the bullying calls have started now with HSBC leading the way! I'm crap on the phone as it is, let alone with things like this! They've only got my mobile number, and I didn't answer as at work and don't want the world knowing my business.....but should I answer? What should I say?

This will teach me to have been crap with money....if I ever have kids I'm going to properly educate them on cash and ban them from having credit cards and loans! I don't want anyone else to have to be in this situation :(
    :j Only 5 years until I'm debt free! :j

I've been a chicken too and have so far ignored any phonecalls (I have caller display). I've also registered with 'choose to refuse' with BT so have blocked the numbers of those that display them.

I know what you mean about kids too - we have 3 and I'm determined to teach them to save for things. My dad has always been very good with money and I wish he'd pushed it to me.

I am now officially a DMPer!! Start date is now 1st April...do I get a badge?

I feel like I have joined some kind of cult...

I don't really know how to feel having seen my statement, feel quite despondent as it is going to be at least 5 years before everything is paid off...I'm such an idiot why have I run up all this debt for nothing?? V annoyed at myself. But I also don't know how I am going to live without shopping for a while ahhh!!!! How am I going to live without credit?!!!! OMG scary!!!!

I know how you feel!! BUT there's nothing you can do about that now! It's done and now it's time to start sorting it out! And really in the scheme of things 5 years is not that much (Mine is 5 years too). When I first spoke to one of the pay DMP company's (I almost did it but it just didn't feel right, so glad I didn't) they quoted me 10 years! I've halved that already by going with Payplan!!

You've done the right thing and welcome to the cult!!! ;)

It's up to you whether you answer. All mine had my mobile number and if I saw it I'd sometimes answer! I got quite good at it actually! 'We're on a DMP with Paypln. Please speak to them instead. here's the reference'. That's basically all you need to say! To anything!!!! Just stand your ground! (Or don't answer, you don't have to! ;) )

So, as much as I don't want to count my chickens it would appear that Natwest have actually finally stopped charging me! It's the end of the month and I would assume it would have shown up today and there's nothing! So fingers crossed they've finally realised it won't help get their money back!

Also got a letter from the last cc to accept saying they accept! And have had no phone calls for a while now!!

Fingers crossed that's that and it should all settle down now!

My parents were almost too good with money!! I got far too used to getting pretty much anything I wanted! And therefore knew nothing of struggling or budgeting!

Question: is there a way of finding out how much road tax will be? Ours is up this month so I need to plan for it? Ta!

    Hi all you DMP ers,

not actually on one myself, yet ... but with regard to harassing phone calls I suggest you head over to the moneysavers Arms to read a thread by zinc oxide , it will give you some great ideas & make you laugh which is most important :D

If I can work out how to do a link then I'll pop back in ....

No, too dumb to do a link but the thread is called " Having fun with Debitas" & should be compulsory reading for anyone on DFW ;)

    You wont be disappointed, enjoy
  • Arrrgghhhh QuickQuid!! They are sooo doing my head in right now. They have declined CCCS offer of £5 on £480 and want £40. hmmm so they are another to expect preferential treatment, I don't think so!!! Just had to hang up on them he was winding me up so much. Told me he was passing it on as I refused payment... Eh £5 isnt refusing payment, thats willingness to pay. Shall now be ignoring all out of area calls on my caller display, they set me in a bad mood for the day.

Rant over!!! ahhhh I guess I feel better now.
  • What date do you pay your DMP to CCCS? I know its 1st of every month but do you pay on the 1st or before to get there for the 1st. I shall be making my 1st payment to them today ready for tomorrow, hopefully that will get there OK.

Got to go to PO later to post my DD mandate to CCCS and some DCA notifications. I guess their will be some activity going on near the PO as its near to where missing Claudia Lawrence works.
