Hi everyone,
My partner is about to start a DMP and I'm not sure how this will affect me. We have a joint current account with a bank and a savings account with a building society, plus he's an additional cardholder on one of my credit cards. Is the fact he's on a DMP likely to affect my credit (which is perfect)? I figure it's wise for one of us to stay squeaky clean!
Thanks for your help,

Will be sending off my notification of plan forms to the creditors this morning (with the final token payment), we'll be starting in May. Neither of the 'CCAs' we've been sent were compliant, the 12+2 days haven't expired yey so I'm going to wait until they do then decide what to do next. MBNA have until today to get their CCAs back to us - if they aren't here by Wednesday I will send the account in dispute letter & see what they do next.
COOP, Egg & Barclaycard have continued to phone regularly (we have all the calls to the mobile logged but not to the home number), so I'm going to have to follow up on the harassment letter with formal complaints then OFT/TS. Once the plan is up and running properly I think we'll change at least the home number.
We have spent an asbsolute fortune in postage/postal orders since January  I'll be very glad when things start to settle down.0 -
OMG !!
Please can someone help - I just logged onto my Lloyds acct (that is going on DMP) and my 2 Lloyds credit cards have taken payments - £77 and £80!! I cancelled the DD and the transaction is called 'pay'.
Surely they can't do this? I wrote to them with details of my DMP and a £1 token payment
Payment is dated today - is there anything I can do? My salary got paid into my old account so I arranged a transfer which hasn't gone through yet.
What can I do??!!!Proud to be dealing with our debts!:jDMP Mutual Support member 269LBM Jan 2009DMP with CCCS 1st May 2009DFD - who knows, but one day! :beer:0 -
Hi all
Just been trying to catch up with you all! Welcome new newbies!
And congratulations PoP!!
Not sure about those that have joint accounts/cards etc. But I had a joint account with hubs for our bills and he also had an o/d with the same bank and i was adviced to remove his name from the joint account so they couldn't take money from the joint account for his od (which is on our DMP)!! I have no idea if they could do it (I always thought with a joint account they'd have to ask us both before doing it?) but i did it anyway just incase. So maybe it's ok if it's not linked to one of the debts on the DMP but if it is linked should maybe take the name off!
Is there anyway those that are named as user on someone else's card can be taken off? If so i would probably do that just in case! To the person who doesn't want to tell OH, why do you not want to tell? I know it's none of my business but i would have thought it might help to be open with them about it. And i'm sure telling them would not be as bad as you may think! it was hard telling my hubby but i was so relieved when i did and now he is a great support when i get (actually USED TO get!!) upset over it! Just a thought and hope you don't think I'm sticking my nose in where it's not wanted!!!!
Biggles, not sure what to advise really!! Have you spoken to your DMP company?? If not I'd give them a ring! It's out of order of Lloyds but I'm not sure if there's anything you can do!DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 261Debt at start of DMP (Jan 2009) = 46,147.86 Now = 36,826.98DFD = [STRIKE]Jan 2014[/STRIKE] May 2013 ([strike]60[/strike] [STRIKE]52[/STRIKE] 41 payments to go)NSD:Nov 12/12:jDec 9/10 Jan 5/10Slowly but surely:coffee:0 -
Hi all,
I've started my CCCS DMP now and my creditors have started to respond to my letters....thankfully the phone has been quiet so far (think this is down to putting my mobile as only contact number) )
Next Directory have been fine and accepted my payment straight away, review at 6 months. HSBC have done their usual sending of a letter saying they'll accept the reduced payment of £211 (its not, its £209 dumb a**!) if I go into a managed loan with them. Do I need to respond to this, or let CCCS know. I've heard a load of bad things about the managed loans, what do I do now? Are HSBC likely to start getting awkward with me from this point?
Sorry for so many questions, just want to make sure I sort my mess out properly without digging myself a bigger hole! x:j Only 5 years until I'm debt free! :j
DMP start date: 1st April 2009

Oops....I emailed CCCS thursday night to check when I will receive my welcome pack. They have emailed me this morning to confirm that it is on the way and creditor notifications have gone out and the plan has been set up to start in April.....I thought it was going to start in May and so was preparing letters and token payments! Luckily I didn't get time to do them all on Friday only did 3 out of 10 creditors but have put my start date as May! Am now going to write back and advise that this was a mistake and it is starting April. She did say that I don't have to write to them all now as they have done it but I think for clarity and to hopefully prevent any phone calls I am going to still send out the notification forms.
Have just spoken to cccs and she did say that I could delay the start until May if I had to but as the papers have already gone out would be better to get things started in April as it may cause further probs as they could kick up a stink saying I have broken the agreement already!
So not a huge disaster but I had made lots of plans for that money that I would be saving this month...but I suppose on the plus side this should mean that I don't get harrassed too badly this month as I was worried that they might kick off at me for making token payments of £50 as opposed to my min payments which total around £600!
Guess it is my fault for not noting on my cccs forms that I expect it to start in May but I didn't think they would have been this quick to get it started! I posted the forms and then 2 days later they had set everything up!
Going to have to be very strict now and save as much as poss as I am now without my emergency fund! I do still have an overdraft of £250 which obviously don't want to use but at least I have that in case of emergency - unless my bank decide to cancel it once I am in the dmp? I'm not sure if they would do that as it is due for review next year so don't know why they would suddenly cancel it??DMP with PayplanDMP Support number 287Trying to lose lbs and save £££s!0
