  • Dear Sirs

    Reference No:

With reference to the above agreement, I would be grateful if you would send me a copy of this credit agreement.

I understand that under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (Sections 77-79), I am entitled to receive a copy of my credit agreement on request. I enclose a payment of £1.00 which represents the fee payable under the Consumer Credit Act.

I understand a copy of my credit agreement should be supplied within 12 working days.

I understand that under the Consumer Credit Act creditors are unable to enforce an agreement if they fail to comply with a request for a copy of the agreement under these sections of the Act.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Yours faithfully
Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.

    Hello All

Just a quick question. When a creditor rings with an unsolicited / cold call and asks for me to go through 'security questions', can I refuse??

It just occurs to me that in these days of people's identities being stolen, it would be so easy to get a phone number, ring up and get people to confirm their DoB, full address etc and scam thousands out of them. How do I know that they are who they claim to be?

On the other hand, the CCCS do advise that creditors DO have the right to contact you about your debts... so what's the answer?

    Thanks guys

Yes. You can even put the phone down if they do. You are under no obligation to answer calls from anyone. Creditor or otherwise.

  • Hi, if I start a DMP for the debts in my name, will my OH find out about it? What i was thinking is that some of banks I have C/C with he also has C/C with, different accounts of course, but I am down as second card holder. Will they stop his C/C as well, because obviously he would know something was up then! We have no joint debt apart from our overdraught and mortage. Will I have to include the overdraught , as he pays the intrest on it? Any help gratefully rececived
  • Hi All

Not posted very ofter but read the thread every day.

We started our DMP with CCCS on 1 March. I have had a letter from one of my creditors requesting amongst other things copy bank statements and wage slips, do I have to supply these?

    Hi Ollie

I personally would not supply this information as the DMP company you are with would have already have sent an I&E form to them siting your situation.

I have had this and when asking Payplan this is what they quoted to me. I am sure cccs would follow the same procedure also.

This is what I hoped would be the response.

  • Hi could someone give me advice as to whether to let the c/card companies know I am not paying the full amount ie Just send a lower payment via internet banking so it reaches the payment date in time or send them a letter and token payment but it will not get there on due date?
And do you think if I rung my banks regarding my loans do you think I should ask if I can pay less this month or payment break, or tell them I am going on a DMP with payplan. Or regardless to what I ask them they will take the full amount anyway.
One last thing if I have a o/draft of 200.00 and it does not cover my minimum payment of 332.38 what happens about that?? Do they add charges and keep adding?? or will they stop when payplan contacts them??

Welcome LadyDay! - I would advise not having a bank account with Barclays if you have a CC with Barclaycard.

It looks like Marbles is run by HFC, who are a part of HSBC, so I wouldn't choose HSBC as an account. A step(?) account with Natwest has been popular with DMPers on here, as have Co-Op's Cashminder. Both accounts are basic ones, and normally wouldn't include overdrafts (as it is more debt!), chequebooks or Visa Debit cards (Though I got a Visa Electron with my Cashminder Account).

I can't fault my Cashminder account 6 months in. You get online banking, customer service is good, and I've just setup a savings account with them that automatically linked to my online banking and bank account.
    .

    Good afternoon,

With regard to bank accounts, I have applied for a Halifax account but hold an Aqua card (who I believe are part of HBOS) and have a CIS instant access saving account whilst having a bunch of debt with the Cooperative bank (CIS I believe are being merged with the Coop).

I guess both accounts are off limits now. Is there a thread which provides a definitive answer on this topic?

    Cheers
