Haven't quite caught up but thought i'd say Hi coz i need to go do some work.
Had a phonecall on the weekend (8.30 sat morning which i ignored as the phone is downstairs but they then phoned back later) from one of hubby's creditors. don't even know which one and it was quite a strange call. as she asked if he was there. i said no, she said will he be back before 9pm, i said no and she said ok can you ask him to phone us please! seemed too easy!
But then i phoned my old bank (Natwest) as they'd sent me a letter that i didn't understand and worried me a bit. i read it that coz i'd made a payment (the accidental paypal one) they were going to charge me £30 'each time' (this was the bit i didn't understand) up to £90 a month! It turns out it's just a warning letter to tell me not to do it again and this is what they'll do if i do! Simples!
But the bloke on the phone said he'd take the £35 charge off as a good will gesture so i thought why not! NOW tell me if he was stringing me along or not coz I felt like he was, he said i had to stay on the line (for up to 10 minutes!!!!!) while it went through! SURELY this was him being a !!!!?? He said if i hung up or lost connection he'd lose the details! Come on now!! But anyway i did stay on the line and also asked for the address for claiming charges back.
his answer was he'd give me the address but it was no good at the moment coz they weren't giving them back right now! i didn't understand this and told him i knew of people that had. he said i don't think so, this is what i do! Hmm, nice guy!
Anyway I think someone may have already answered this earlier. what does it mean on hold unless hardship (he didn't say this i read that on this thread)? i don't think i fit into that. does that mean i won't be able to claim at all? or just not yet?
Cheers!
Also filed all my DMP stuff.
1 od closed and termination notice sent. Think they are still charging but not sure (Barclays)
1 still charging (Natwest. Pain in the ...)
1 loan accepted lower payment for 6 months (Northern Rock)
1 defaulted but RBS and i believe still charging interest (Tesco, could be wrong, don't receive a statement)
cc's
1 (MBNA) accepted for 12 months.
4 defaulted but it seems only 2 gone to other companies. And from what i can tell (don't receive statements from Egg) not all of these have stopped interest (sorry Cocker, hopefully I'm wrong and will see it next time I get statements)! The RBS ones seems to be being the awkward ones (that's 3 of them) but i believe Egg may still be charging too. (1 Tesco, 1 Mint and 2 x Egg)
2 cc's heard nothing from but 1 seems to have stopped interest (Halifax) and the other is another Mint.
Sorry seem to have written an essay again!
Hope you're all well.
Oh and one more thing payments are now showing up on justabank with all but too accepted so far!
And it's going to be tight but i still might manage to stay in budget this month! fingers crossed!DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 261Debt at start of DMP (Jan 2009) = 46,147.86 Now = 36,826.98DFD = [STRIKE]Jan 2014[/STRIKE] May 2013 ([strike]60[/strike] [STRIKE]52[/STRIKE] 41 payments to go)NSD:Nov 12/12:jDec 9/10 Jan 5/10Slowly but surely:coffee:0 -

Hi anyone got any advice on this further,or am I worrying over nothing. Do you suppose I could say I was getting hassled and applied thinking I could pay off (although this is not that at all)
x
Hiya,
I think the best way to go here is just to say that you applied for the cards in a last ditch attempt to shift your debt around.
You then realised that it wouldn't work and cancelled the cards and started the DMP instead!!!;)
I'm sure they'll be ok with that!!!

Thanks guy's
Just phoned payplan and they said as long as I didnt USE any new credit I will be fine so thats relieved things for me as I was worrying I admit
You guy's are fab on here and cant wait til I can help newbies.
Have been asked by my fab mates to go to New York December for 4 days and the cost is £503 as i am starting DMP this worried me so I said I will think and see if can raise money without touching emergency fund first.
Well i started eBay'ing like a mad woman and raised £76 on 6 items that were lying around house that I thought was a load of toot, looked in my airing cupboard and I reckon I have-no joke-2000 plus items of kids clothing-so there is my debt lol
Am going to put all that on eBay will take til November I reckon but see if I can raise that way, also I have holiday savings of £1000 that work save from my wages monthly but feel bad taking that and 'feel' it *should* go on emergency fund for future f&f's but hubby is saying use that. So will try the eBay thing fell it is a personal challenge to myself and the clothes are so lovely that they will benefit others too
Sorry for war and peace essay

Hi bexxie90, I'm in the same boat, my OH has asked me to go to cyprus this summer and he'll pay but i still need some spending money. I got myself a terramundi money pot where you have to smash it to get the money. I've been putting some change in there. I know it'll take ages for me to save but at least I'll have a wee bit of spending money. I've been told that if you fill your jar with only £2 coins you'll save just over £700. I'm planning to get another one for my christmas fundDo what you want because in the end people will judge you anyway.0

You can usually get them from craft shops or eBay but they are anything from £15 upwards. So in my money saving efforts I backed away from the stall selling them! :rotfl:Light Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0 -
Here's the official website but if you do a google search I'm sure you'll get them cheaper elsewhere.

I think the cheapest I've seen them is £13.95 (I know it's alot of money, but they do really help me save cause I don't want to smash it!)Do what you want because in the end people will judge you anyway.0 -

LONGER!!!!! BOUT 17years!!
Can I ask a question to those of you with CCCS and who have MBNA as a creditor, as I'm confuseddoesn't take much
Anyway, we have 3 cards with the MBNA group and our min contrractual payment was £25 regardless of balance., hence the fact we had so many cards with them. CCCS have said that they must work out the contractual payment as 3% of the balance which means that MBNA will now be getting £37 per month, rather than the £25 that they want, yet M&S fo example who want £150 are only getting £50has anyone else had this prob?
Thanks
