yo yo yo evening all!
hope everyone is well?
Had four letters from the FOS to let us know they have received our complaints re ppi claims so we should here back in a few months time! Thats how busy the FOS is at the minute!
Ithink Bexx was on about NDR a tad earlier, just wanted to say these are inhouse people for the catalogue people. I have had letters from them for Great Universal (now Littlewoods). Don't worry about the charges I managed to claim back £36 from them, they do pay up.
I had a statement the other day with another £12 charge after they had refunded me  so I have hit back with a CCA request, should be interesting considering the SAR we sent for loans came back with all my catalogue info which was just a load of statements :rolleyes:DMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0 -

Stol: It is up and down at the start with the letters etc but trust me it does get soooooooooooooo much better.. I used to dread the postman coming but now I look forward to it. I was getting about 3 letters a week at the start, now im lucky if I get 1 every 4 months and when they do come they are only statements, not demands for money.
Spending time on this board definitely makes you wiser and stronger.
Will you admit to getting annoyed when you don't get any post? I can't wait to get home to see if I have any letters especially now we are reclaiming money! I go all sulky when its just junk mail!DMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0 -

I'm just in the process of sending my DMP cover letters out with token payments, should I enclose a letter requesting they move all contact numbers especially work? I don't suppose they'll pay any attention to my request though

Yes you could say in the letter not to ring you at work though like you say they will prob ignore it. I said in my letter I only wanted contact in writing, did they listen? No a chance but its worth a go.DMP Mutual Support Thread No 278

It's worth a try, won't hold my breath though! I am actually in the process of getting my home number changed due to harrassing calls from a family member, then they can ring all they like!Do what you want because in the end people will judge you anyway.0

Just recieved a text message saying that one or our BarclayCard Debts have been transfered to Mercers and to contact them.
Any advice on these people ? Should I wait until they put it in writing ?
Are Barclays that hard up they can't even be bothered to put a stamp on a letter?Don't waste your time or credit to bother contacting them. Mercers are inhouse collectors for Barclaycard, don't be alarmed by the scary letters or text you'll be told the debt has been transferred to Mercers; they are the same people!!
I hate it when the creditors do this, try and blag you that the debt has been passed on like you'll suddenly find all the extra cash you need from somewhere like the back of your sofa to pay different people a bit more :rolleyes:DMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0 -
Hi everyone,
Just thought I would pass on what we were told to do when we first started out on our DMP. We were told not to get into any lengthy discussions with any of our creditors. just tell them that we were on a DMP with Payplan and give them our reference number and refer them to Payplan who were acting on our behalf. Now we just let them ramble on when they call, We have been on our DMP for 13 months and have now ' toughened up '. At the end of the day, we don't have any more money to pay them, so what we don't have they can't have.End of story. I know when you are just starting out it can be a bit daunting when creditors  call, but believe me, you will all get stronger and not lose any sleep over them. We are all doing as much as we can and I now refuse to be bullied by someone on the end of a telephone.

Good on you Elsie :T
I changed my home phone before I did a DMP so there was no chance of any calls, I just couldn't face it! The whole thing was daunting enough without the thought of constant calls especially when the soaps were on!DMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0 -
Thanks elsie52, your post is very reassuring. I am getting tougher (i actually open mail now) but I think it will take a wee while before I can start answering my phone again.Do what you want because in the end people will judge you anyway.0

Lol, Ok ok I kind of look forward to hearing what my creditors are up to0 -
It does get easier guys - honest. I now look forward to getting mail and seeing my balances reducing, some quicker than others. I remember the feeling when we first started, and I was worried sick, I was scared to answer the phone, and I was always on edge in case anyone telephoned when we had visitors. We never had anyone at the door either, I think a lot of these things are threats and they are meant to frighten us. Well, not any more. We are a lot stronger than we think we are. Good luck everyone.
