Sorry right off subject but curious
You can have a number by asking for one.
If you do want a number, then yours is 285!DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -

does anyone know if there is a number of times that a creditor is "allowed" to call you per day. Have read a few different things in which they have claimed that it is their right to contact you how they choose. Sky are currently calling between 8-10 times a day, every day, and it's doing my head in to put it mildly.
I sent a "polite" request regarding written comms last week which hasn't helped so have just dashed off a harassment letter which I will send today. I have also written to them 3 times (by R/C) enclosing my I & E but have had no response at all - apart from the constant phone calls which I refuse to answer. Anyone have any info on Sky and how long it may take to get a response?
CM,
Hi CM,
Creditors are only allowed to phone a certain amount of times a day (I can't remember what it is now), however if you don't answer or somebody else answers then they can phone as often as they like until you speak to them.
Not sure about the hours, I know there are guidelines for that but without looking into it I don't know if there are any set hours, although I'd assume if they phoned extremely late or very early there may be.:j DMP mutual support thread member - 135:j0 -
Just recieved a text message saying that one or our BarclayCard Debts have been transfered to Mercers and to contact them.
Any advice on these people ? Should I wait until they put it in writing ?LBM - Oct - 08 DMP Started - Feb -09

Natwest have just 'transferred' (taken without my consent(yes i know i owe them))money out of my account (which has sent me overdrawn) to pay for loan for which i had cancelled the dd in order to build up an emergency fund.
Can they do this? they are only sending me deeper in debt.
Does anyone know who to write to for paying token payments regarding a natwest loan?
Thanks guys.0 -

Well the lunatics have taken over and are running the asylum !!
Curiosity got the better of me and I called Mercers ready to fight, but, after speaking to 5 different people, all of who took me details and put me back into the queue, I finally was able to speak to Barclaycard ( transfered!!)
They confirmed they are happy with the agreement and to continue as things are fine the way they are.
They also confirmed they would not accept any FnF offers, and the best bet was to put the money aside !!!
it was nice to speak to a human who actually wasnt reading from a script.
Thats 2 creditors that have gone up in my books .. BarclayCard and MBNA !!LBM - Oct - 08 DMP Started - Feb -09

I was reading this VERY funny thread earlier http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=741653 and somewhere imbedded in there one of the posters quotes the guidelines regarding number of calls they could make when they worked in an outbound call centre.
Hope this helps!Light Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0 -

As far as I'm aware, yes they are allowed to do this. This is why you should setup a new current account that isn't linked to any of your creditors as soon as possible. The Co-Op Cashminder account is very popular on here (As is the Natwest Step account, but I wouldn't suggest them in your position!). You get a Visa Electron card, but no chequebook or OD.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Hi All
Just wondered has anyone had any experience with Aegis? Got a letter saying to contact them urgently re MBNA account. I thought MBNA used RMA. I also got a card from RMA saying they will be calling on Friday.DMP Mutual Support Thread No 278
CCCS DMP Start 1st May 2009

Just been on the phone to Next. they sent a letter saying they wont accept £2 for DMP, that is from my old DMP company. CCCS are offering them £5 and so I was respoinding to tell them that and she said that as I wont be paying them until 1st April I need to make £5 myself so I told her I will make a £1 token payment now but she refused it and said if not £5 it will be forwarded to a DCA, which is fair enough im use to that now.
I thought £1 showed willingness and would stop any further action but seems not, well not in their book anyway.
Im sure she was sniggering at me as well.
Not a nice lady!
Any further advice??0
