    Morning All

We have just begun a DMP with CCCS and CCCS have just sent offers out to all our creditors.

RBS have refused CCCS offer under the basis they want more! Why doesn't that surprise me from that bank! RBS have also sent me a shirty letter stating they are going to default me and threatening legal action - they are my biggest creditor with two credit cards and a loan - total value in excess of £20,000!

I have also received a letter from them in connection to me trying to reclaim my bank charges (over £1,500!) in which they wont consider it yet unless I can prove I am in financial hardship - are these people for real!

Can I just give them CCCS number and reference or do I need to complete the Customer Financial Statement they have sent me?

    Anyone any answers please ??

I believe bank charge claims are on hold except for those in financial hardship...

I think at the beginning creditors will refuse to play ball... just hang in there!

I guess you need to prove that you are in financial hardship, guidelines are here:

Basically, unemployment, illness, relationship breakdown etc...

  • What's everybody else's experience with RBS - do they sell the debts on?
Wouldn't mind but as a taxpayer we own this bank - so they should be a little more understanding and not quite so aloof - if it wasn't for the taxpayer bailing them out and if they hadn't made so many bad investment decisions - they wouldn't be in the mess they are now.
Its no different them having to go the government cap in hand with its begging bowl out than any of us having to go to them and say we are struggling - please help!
None of us ever borrowed the money from them with the intention of not being able to pay it back and we all want to pay it back now - but some of us are struggling (many through no fault of our own) and they should be more helpful and not keep making matters worse by adding endless interest and unjust charges!
    Sorry - rant over

RBS (mint) Loan and CC and they've not sold it on at all. I started my DMP in May 07.

They are very quiet. Just send me a loan statement once a year and nothing at all else since the defaults. But they never replied to any of the letters I wrote to them.

Anyone heard of NDR for Empire.
I sent my token payment and for the pleasure received- £12 for breaking minimun payment amount and £12 for some other obscure reason (think they tried to say it was late but it wasnt I paid 2 weeks early)

These seem horrible absolutely horrid. I think they are the in-house dept for Empire as although I thnk the debt has defaulted it hasnt actually gone to an outside dca

Right, I've decided now I'm going forward with the DMP I'll try to claim back some bank charges - been meaning to do it but with the overdraft thought best not in case they demanded all the money back. Just checked my statement from July last year and there is about £250 worth of charges in that alone (no wonder I ended up in a mess)
If it goes towards paying the debt down then every little helps.

I have catalogues with NDR. If you paid 2 weeks early did you wait for a statement as it may have gone onto the current statement and so they think that payment was extra to your previous payment. They are an in house DCA. I have defaults on both mine and they are still with NDR.

Hope that makes sense lol not very good at explaining it.
  • How do I get a number?? Like what you people have.

Sorry right off subject but curious

Not strictly the same thing but I've sent off to a couple of my CC's to reclaim credit card charges. Halifax have already got back to me and offered £78 although I was claiming £240. I've now downloaded the template letter advising them I'm going to take my claim to the county court. Hopefully that will prompt them in to paying me the £240. (well it will actually be knocked off my CC balance but it will all help). :T

I'm also going to write off to my remaining CC's and also another one which was closed and see if I have any joy. The only downside is finding the £10 fee each time, although MBNA returned the cheque and provided the information for free. :j
