Hello,
As the wife is the only one currently working (and I receive no JSA) and may be in for a pay rise and bonus in the next 4 month...generally how does this affect your DMP (if it's up and running by then) as she may get 5K plus and 2K bonus......?
Turn back 19 month and for 2 days we had a plan to pay it all back in 6 month and I loose my job..........ironic
Thanks in advance.
You could either raise your payments via the dmp or stash it away and make full and finally offers.
My friend is with payplan and has been for 4 years they had the same situation, hubby got better paid job, wife gets a quarterly 2k bonus and they have been putting the extra away ready for payplan to make full and final offers for them.Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -

So .......................................
we've 1-both got horrendous size debts:eek: , 2 - got DFD far far far away in the distant future:eek: and 3 - useless hubbies:rotfl: ! Stick at it, and just deal with each day as it comes try not to get too hung up in the future!
Enjoy your day guys and keep posting:A

Good morning all,
have had a horrendous few days with constant phone calls to home, mobile and hubbies work. He had a call demanding that he pay £600 immediately or legal action would be taken - this is from Halifax who told us that they would suspend all calls as soon as they received our I & E form and repayment proposals! Then yesterday everything went quiet - not one phone call from any of 9 creditors- am not sure whether to be pleased or scared!
Have sent second letters to all creditors, accompanied by "polite" requests to remove our phone numbers from their databases and correspond in writing only.
Have also rejigged our budget and freed up an extra £50 a month to be stashed away for the time being with a view to offering full and finals at some point (probably in the distant future!)
Hope all are well today, CM.
P.S. After all the talk of shiny new files - I went and got one and spent all yesterday sorting out letters and statements which were stashed in various cupboards/drawers!LBM - Feb 2009 :money:Debt free - March 2016!

Hi tuna the cat. I got this template letter over on the ask a cccs counsellor a question board and just tweaked it a bit. It has worked for me with HSBC who are renowned for being a pain!
Dear Sir/Madam
We are writing to ask that you no longer contact us by telephone as your calls are causing us considerable stress due to the frequency, and that they are being made at inappropriate times. Please remove our telephone numbers from your database and send all future communication in writing to our home address.
As you are aware we are currently on a debt management plan, as advised by CCCS. We will continue to make payments through CCCS on the 26th of every month and will keep you informed of any changes in our circumstances as we are keen to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
We understand that following this request if you continue to call we can contact the Office of Fair Trading to make a formal complaint.
Please confirm in writing that your records have been amended.

 My heart can't take much more stress. Having had my LBM in December and on my way to becoming debt free I thought I had accidentally paid by creditcard on paypal!!!! I sent back all the cards cut up in December and haven't looked back. Paid the CCCS my second payment today and all the calls and letters seem to have stopped for the timebeing.
I bought a fancy dress outfit on ebay for my birthday party in a couple of weeks and have been monitoring the bank to see it coming out. Not very much money but I have been saving and using only cash for everything. On nightshift last night and it occurred to me I couldn't remember if I had taken all my credit card details off paypal and thought I could have paid with one of them.
Just checked and it was the bank card phew. :j I was literally driving home like a maniac to get online to check.
Iam so relieved that I didn't make the stupidest mistake ever! Really trying hard. Has anyone else done anything similar and what happened if you did use your card? Deleted all the details so nothing like that should ever happen.
How is everyone today, I am now sitting with a sweet hot cuppa to calm my nerves!LBM: 09/12/2008
[strike]£36000[/strike] £0 on 4 cards and a personal loan. Debt Remedy. Signed with CCCS on 14/01/2009 started Feb 2009. Finished March 2016
Lessons learned and facing the struggle have made my life better than I ever thought it could be. Thank you Stepchange and DFW forum :beer:0 -
We sent two £1 cheques to HSBC, one for credit card and one for loan. HSBC have cashed one of these cheques but into my main account (which is obviously £224 overdrawn due to my loan payments not being stopped). Anyone had anything like that?0

Hi R&B
I wouldn't worry bout it too much. I used to work for them and the left hand doesn't know what the right hane is doing, they have depts all over the world dealing with diff a/c's etc, I suspect the other cheque is sitting in someone's 'intray' somewhere. Give it another week or so, and then, if you're brave enough, give them a call!
Take care

Sort of, and I still don't know quite how it's going to effect things!
I made a payment (of only £2.27, ridicululously small amount so I hope it hasn't messed things up) through paypal last week! and i had changed my account from old to new but obviously it hadn't set it up as the default! So the payment came out of old account (with it's massive £4000 od and which is on dmp) which was already over the od limit due to them charging me for going over last month when they took the interest and also this months interest! so what happened? They charged me more! so I am now £90 over my od limit because of 2 charges and an interest payment and the payplan payment that should be winging it's way to them as we speak is not going to cover it!
I have no idea what will happen but payplan said even if they keep charging me and the total keeps going up (or down depending on which way you look at it!) at the end they can ask for it all to be taken off and normally they say yes!
So fingers crossed coz if they keep doing this for the next 5 years the debt is going to go way up instead of down! I need to remove the card so it doesn't happen again!DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 261Debt at start of DMP (Jan 2009) = 46,147.86 Now = 36,826.98DFD = [STRIKE]Jan 2014[/STRIKE] May 2013 ([strike]60[/strike] [STRIKE]52[/STRIKE] 41 payments to go)NSD:Nov 12/12:jDec 9/10 Jan 5/10Slowly but surely:coffee:0 -
Hi All,
I've now cut up the credit cards but chucked them out so can't send to the comapanies. Is it a good idea to send my bank debit card back with my token payment and DMP Notification Letter or just cut it up the same as the CC.
Thanks
