That's ridiculous dlb! they obviously didn't even think about what standard letter they were sending!!

Wouldn't it be nice if it were true or enforceable tho!!

Hi all, hope you're all well. Welcome to all the new newbies!!

Not much to report today! Had to go to the bank to change around some money from one account to another to cover my stupid 2008 institution fee!! But it's done now and hopefully will save me from going into an overdraft i don't have and should be able to forget about it now! Altho i am still tempted to speak to my boss about it! hmm!

Had a bit of an ooops on friday! Ages ago i 'won a holiday' if we went along to a 2 hour presentation! Anyway, we didn't end up going and when they phoned to rearrange i said no thanks and thought that was that!

But they phoned again on fri offering me a stay in a british hotel instead! the deal they offered me was £58 for both of us mon to fri over our anniversary for a spa hotel in cornwall. and the catch is a 90 minute presentation we have to sit through! i ummed and arred and really wasn't sure. i know they will try the hard sell, but we really can't afford it so i can't see us giving in however good they are! I'm even tempted to take my income and expenditure to SHOW them how we can't afford it! hehe! in a way i'm even partly quite looking forward to the challenge! but on the other hand i'm nervous they will pester us and ruin our break!

But anyway i did it! I hope i didn't make a huge mistake! I go between being nervous I've messed up and shuold never have said yes to being excited about our mini holiday that we'd have had no chance of getting this year otherwise!

What do you think? Am i a complete mug??? Did they see me coming? I intend to read the small print thoroughly (something i think i've probably never done in my life!) and also we will cost cut whilst there by taking some food and drink so we don't have to pay hotel prices the whole week!

Oh well it's done now!! eeek!!!

PS. I bought a folder for filing yesterday!!! ;)

It was pain tho as the one i picked up and wanted was the last one there and had no label or barcode, so i couldn't have it! and had to go back after getting my shopping to get a different one!

Tis done tho, and this weekend I will file all my dmp stuff in one place! Oh what fun!!!!

It'd be interesting if you're listed as debt free on their records, as it'd be another customer that they've saved... You'll have an actor playing you in an advert next, saying what a great company they were!

    They will hound you.
They will try and use high pressure selling techniques on you to make you buy. I "won" one of these last year in spain. all we had to cover was the flight £80 for the 2 return for a weeks holiday and a presentation to attend to.
It is a scam to a certain extent, but if you make it known from the outset that you have no intention of buying / signing up and you cannot afforord it, they will eventually give up.
Ive known people who have literally been locked in a room and subjected to 4 - 6 hours of this high pressure selling, in the end, the threat of violence put a stop to it, and the "rep" who collected them from the hotel refused to take them back, resulting in a taxi fair.

    Just be very careful

Hi everyone, haven't been on here for a few days so just reading all the posts to catch up.

    Can I have a number too? :p

I contacted CCCS last week, so just waiting on my welcome pack. Do I send token payments to my creditors now or wait till I've got my pack from CCCS? Also I don't have statements for everyone so not sure exactly how much I owe but I do now roughly the amounts. I've cancelled my direct debits so I'm expecting communication from them anyway. Should I expect them to be pretty awkward about accepting my DMP? I have 8 creditors in total. Can anyone tell me good/bad experiences with them?

    Barclaycard CC - £251
    Capital One CC - £184
    Citifinancial PL - £9248
    Lloyds TSB OD - £342
    PaydayUK PDL- £475
    RBS OD - £2066
    Vanquis CC - £507
    Welcome Finance PL - £8275

I've applied for a new bank account so hopefully get that this week, however my cut off point for my wages to go in the new account is the 12th so hopefully it'll be set up by then, if not my OH says I can use his account. My wages go in on the 25th of every month and I usually pay all my creditors on that day or after, so should I expect the harrassment to start then? I have a habit of binning unopened mail from them so I'm going to get a folder and keep all correspondance from now on.
Do what you want because in the end people will judge you anyway.
