I,ve just checked my CCCS statement online and its so good to see the first lot of payments going out to our creditors.:T
HSBC have been very quiet this past week so fingers crossed they may be getting the message!
We also got a letter from first plus yesterday informing us they are cutting the interest on our secured loan (£85,000, gulp..) - about time as they had put it up almost every month throughout last year.
And I have given myself the day off work today so all in all a good start to the weekend!!:j

  • Morning,

Feeling a bit deflated today :( , have spoken to CCCS and they say that they still haven't received all the paperwork that I sent at beginning of week, I'm starting to panic now as all my orig bank statements, wage slips etc in the envelope....what do I do if lost in the post?
I know I'm going to worry all weekend now, as they've told me to call back on monday afternoon.
    MD xx
Finally brave enough to deal with my debts! :D

  • Argh!! Not great day today!!

Firstly i paid my professional institution fees on wed when i got paid. this is ok coz my company pay it, i just have to put in expenses. BUT it still isn't showing up on my statement. And I had to pay last year's too coz i missed it and they wouldn't accept a reduced rate! HOWEVER, they never took the money for that so was just hoping they never noticed! As i wouldn't be able to ask the company for that and would have to pay it myself (£160 quid i don't have)

But now it looks like this may have happened twice I'm now worried that something has gone wrong and they're going to realise and all of a sudden take £328 out of my account!! that would not be good to say the least! hopefully i'm just worrying over nothing and it's just too soon to see this payment and that the last one is forgotten! Sorry if this is rambling and making no sense! no answers needed, just wanted to rant!

Next, has anyone heard of Wescot Credit Services??? We've twice now received a postcard through our door saying to call them!! But the weird part is it says 'to the occupier' so they don't know our names! this seems weird to me! i assume it's nothing to do with the debt as they'd know our names if so wouldn't they? I don't intend to call them, coz it sounds so dodgy, but thought I'd ask you lot if you'd ever heard of them!!

Also, barclays are refusing hubby's reduced payment for his od!! What does this mean? They are sending a Termination notice. This is ok right? It's not one of the things I've had before so not somthing i know about and can happily ignore! Ta!

Also o2 have taken two payments from me as i tried to change my tariff and obviousyl did it wrong (but I've spoken to them and it should be sorted ok)

And lastly, it was on the news that HBOS HAVE been taken over by Lloyds! I have a cc with HBOS and my new account is with Lloyds. Does this mean I'll need a new new account??

Thanks for all your help! It's amazing how things can seem so rosy, then a few dodgy letters or things happen and the worry comes flooding back!

And to think yesterday and wednesday I was happily spending my bonus money! ;)

DFD - who knows, but one day!
  • I was hoping someone could clear up a few things for me please?
We're going with CCCS for our DMP which I completed online.

About to send all our paperwork off but I wondered what happens then? Obviously they contact all the creditors and they negotiate the payments. Do I need to forward any paperwork/letters I receive? eg, threats to take me to court, default notices etc?

Also, I see people seem happy when debts are passed to a DCA - why is this? Are they not nastier to deal with? Again, if they are passed on, I have to send it to CCCS?

Sorry for all the questions but as we did our DMP online, I didn't actually get to ask these.

    Hi rcpbiggles

If you look online at the CCCS website they have a list of different types of letter and what you should do with them.

I think once the debt is passed to a DCA you no longer have interest or charges applied to it and some DCAs seem easier to negotiate with than the creditors themselves - hope this helps.:D

10 mins after my last post where I was gloating about HSBC not phoning me recently - guess what?? Yep you guessed it.. So I have just printed off a letter asking them to remove our phone numbers from their database and threatening them with OFT if they dont, as advised by some of you very helpful guys on here:A let hope it works!

I am not sure on this one,I assume if passed over then you could send paperwork to your DMP company but think they will have details anyway as are in contact with them anyway. I would send quick e-mail to them and double check.

Also, I see people seem happy when debts are passed to a DCA - why is this? Are they not nastier to deal with? Again, if they are passed on, I have to send it to CCCS?
I think the reason people seem happier with them being passed on is because once they have the debts have been sold on by initial creditors for a lot less and I *think* interest is usually frozen along with charges etc.
Sorry for all the questions but as we did our DMP online, I didn't actually get to ask these.

Better peeps than me will be along soon I am just starting out and admit it is blinkin scary but from what I have read things get easier and we dont worry so much:o
