  • Good evening everyone!:j

It's been very quiet on here today, it took me 'til page 5 to find us!!
We've obviously been receiving so much positive support and encouragement from all the great old and new time DMP'ers that we're not needing to post as often.;) , not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
Anyway, my latest is that I have been allocated DMP 255 by the lovely Ianmak and YES that is virtually the amount of months until my DMP ends:eek: , and d'you know what..........................I'm reallly not fussed.:p
I posted all my paperwork to CCCS on Monday, and rang them today to see if received but it's not on their system yet so I will check again tomorrow as desperate to get up and running now.:D All token payment letters still sitting by the front door ready for posting on Saturday for my March instalments.

Hope all is well with you all, oviously something right as so quiet on here, and I shall post soon.

To any long time lurkers out there if you're worried about your debt and worrying about what to do or where to start with regards to getting DF with a DMP then don't be shy, we're ALL lovely on here :A (if I do say so myself!), I know it took me a while to get up the bottle to post, I s'pose I was embarrassed about the size of my debt and scared incase everyone ignored my post, but I have to say just as DLB and many other old time DMP'ers said...................it has changed my life!!:D

    Take care guys:T

    MD xx
Finally brave enough to deal with my debts! :D

I think you will find that once everything is settled down then people will come and go, but we will always be lurking to lend a hand if need be!

I'd like a (lucky) number please!
  • God it feels so weird not to be making all my usual internet CC payments and then feeling so stressed when I realise how very little of my monthly salary I have left to last the whole month and how AGAIN I will be using my credit cards to get cash to get me through the month.....:o
    It's a bit of a relief really........

Am planning to get my postal orders on Saturday to post off to my creditors.

Roughly how long does it take for the welcome pack to come and then from that how long until things are up and running?
Other posters have made reference to delaying the start date of their DMP and I'm wondering if I should do that so that I can get my car serviced and shore up my emergency fund.....

    Any thoughts.....?
Proud to be dealing with my debts

    Hi jenevieve

I think it took about a week for our welcome pack to come from CCCS. That was in November and I dragged my feet a little so didnt get all the paperwork back to them till near the end of December. Our DMP actually started in February (I changed this from January so we would have a bit more money behind us). So I suppose about 2 months from initial contact with CCCS to making our 1st payment.

I think it may be a good idea to get your car serviced and perhaps put a few quid away for emergencies before you start the DMP - as long as you continue to make token payments in the meantime your creditors cant say that youve ignored your debt!

Wont stop them harassing you though and even registering defaults against you but as long as you keep telling them you take your debt seriously hence why you want to keep making payments of what you can afford, they cannot say you are ignoring the debt.

You will be called repeatedly, stay strong were all either going through this, or have been through it already. if you need help, support or even just want to voice off a little, were all going to be here for quite a while !!!;)
