We've had calls from two of our 14 creditors; we'd already decided that we weren't going to deal with them over the 'phone. COOP call regularly on our home number - I only use the phone for outgoing calls & have the ringer off - so it doesn't bother me at all. Egg call & text on the mobile (I never take the calls), we've sent them the harassment letter & made the point that by continuing to call they will be jeopardizing my employment which won't help them get any money. It honestly hasn't been too bad though.
kissthedebtgoodbye we've moved ours from April to May (had a month out of work, redundancies all over the place & are expecting a new baby in May so we need a decent emergency fund) - the creditors will get three months of tokens which no doubt will !!!! them off but that's life.0 -

Morning guys,
just a quick question, how long does account information remain on your credit report for (Experian) iv just been online looking at my credit report and it states that is shows the credit status for 36 months, but it also states that he shoes missed payments for 6 years from when it is settled, can anyone clear this up for me????

6 years from the time the Creditors decide to notify the credit reference agencys or issue a default.
So basically the sooner they issue the default, the sooner it will expire. ( bit like speeding points really !!)LBM - Oct - 08 DMP Started - Feb -09

Im sure once the debt is settled you can ask for the default to be removed by the creditor and your credit file marked as settled?Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0

Thanks 2spicey,
What about accounts that dont default you that are not included in the dmp like mobile account, say you make a late payment once and a while, how many years do they show of your status history on your credit file??

Yeah good point!! She's going to sit down with the boyfriend tonight and go through everything so it will probably be fine anyway! He's on a pretty good wage and has moved in with her so has no bills of his own. Also her mortgage has gone down a HUGE amount!! But if not I'll tell her to ring up and ask!

Not sure these actually matter as the account will be "settled" and there would be no outstanding moneys.
As long as the account is marked "satisfied" I think your ok.
A default will stay for 6 years, even if its been satisfied as far as i understand, I may be wrongLBM - Oct - 08 DMP Started - Feb -09
